I feel ripped off. Lost my Geo-Location.
I'm pretty much retired so I decided SU19 was it for me. I can't justify the subscription model.
However, it seems that a feature of my licence has been removed, specifically, Geo-Location.I first started with SU5 with AtLast, cost me a good chunk of change too, AU$800/900 I think.
And when Geo-Locate came out it was a game changer, I was doing a lot of landscape design and accurate shadow studies were invaluable. And still are.So it seems that Geo-Location has been removed from my version of SU. But I paid for it, so how can this be?
And before Trimble apologists batter me with excuses, I have read several posts on other forums which fully explain the technical/licensing issues.
I don't feel like these issues are my problem though. My problem is that I have had a function of my licensed software arbitrarily removed.
Not happy, Class action anyone?
Notwithstanding the above, does anyone know of a workaround to allow me to Geo-locate my models in SU19?
Oh boy, awaiting the storm...

RE: Help with this Bezier profile drawing.
Panixia, Can you tell me the name of the Plugin you are using for this? I have always only scaled circles to produce ellipses til now. Thanks.

RE: Help with this Bezier profile drawing.
Damn! Something was niggling me about those lines and points... ellipse major minors of course... I have used Ellipses in my work for years. And always with the major/minor stick method.
Thanks Panixia. -
RE: Help with this Bezier profile drawing.
Thanks Rich. As mentioned, not much knowledge with Beziers. And I cant find 'Edit' on right click...

RE: Help with this Bezier profile drawing.
Thanks Rich, I was hoping to get a better understanding of Beziers generally and in this case Bezier curves would allow me to not only tweak the profile, (which I need to do), but also to generate hi-res CNC files. Cheers.

RE: Drawing Depiction
I don't mean to be rude, but you have it ass about face. Working drawings are done in SU and taken into layout for annotation/views/sections etc. I cant imagine anyone starting a project with layout, crazy idea!
Do a search for Sonder to see what you can really do with Layout... -
Help with this Bezier profile drawing.
Hi chaps, I am trying to understand this profile drawing to get the lines into SU.
The Blue and Red straight lines and endpoints, I suspect, are intended to guide the Bezier curves but my poor brain can't figure it out... any help greatly appreciated.

RE: Match Photo Image Disappears
Old post I know, but I have had this issue for quite a while. And can find no solution anywhere.
However I have a work around...
... Right click the errant scene and click 'Add scene with matched photo'. This will bring it back for a while as a new scene, (the previous PM scene image will come back as well). You may have to keep doing this, it depends, sometimes I can orbit many times before I lose the photo, (not the scene, just the image), other times I lose it after one orbit sequence.Hope this helps someone get out of trouble until a proper fix is found.
BTW I have experienced this on two PCs with clean installs of SU19 so I very much doubt its anything to do with cards, drivers etc.

RE: Recommendation / Suggestions
I recently had to replace my lappie. I found a mid-level Gaming laptop offered the best bang for my buck.
The reasoning being that if it can run modern graphically intensive games it can certainly handle SU and rendering. And it does.
Cheers.

But they have come from me, therefore From out of the Box.
Therefore, these things are 'Out of the Box'.
Therefore 'FROM' not required.
N'est Pas?

RE: Some tips and tricks from out of the Box
You need to get out more I reckon Come visit.
PS: I have never understood the inclusion of the word 'from' in your subject title, is this deliberately ungrammerely or simply bad grammer?
Or something else entirely, I s'pose. -

I've been watching a lot of french cleat videos lately.
I love french cleats. Strong as. Be a bit hard to sit in that chair tho' unless you had anti-grav device:)
But really, nice solution. I would be worried about it catching cooking smells?
PS: I think that small spaces should have the least amount of 'Adaptable/Configurations'.
The worst, in my opin, is the pull out bed. Unless it's a single. The next worse is the fold up table, really?

Not being interested in interaction ESPECIALLY on Social media, does not qualify you as a nihilist. it appears your lifestyle is, at least in part, hermit-like and there is no crime in that. In fact it shows a certain common sense and insight.
Keep sharing here so others can dream of the off-grid life. We may be wannabes but we'll try not to bother you.
Well mr pabacot. I thank you for that.
The interest for me is in the design of small spaces. I am 6'5". I live in small spaces.
I spent 30 years blue water sailing as crew, including 10 as owner/kipper. And 50 years woodworking on my own, designing and making as I went along.
My tiny house has been built to that experience. I would love to share that.
