I know basically nothing about code so am assuming I just cut and paste these chunks of code separately into the control box of the servo?
When I do this, your code phy increases the speed of the servo which spins continuously, and your code wacov turns the servo for one increment but on the second click it returns to the original position...what am I doing wrong guys?

RE: Servo control
wow, cool thanks for that. What do I need to add to that to get it to repeat the action; It does the 120 degree motion but no response on the second click....is it possible to get an additional response on the second click??

Servo control
Hi guys, I've had a look round the forum but I struggle to understand anything on this subject, although I'm sure its simple.
What I'm trying to do is get a servo to rotate 120degrees then stop. Then rotate another 120 degrees when I hit the key again. I've got it rotating 120 but it returns on release of the key. What sort of script do I put in the control box to do what I'm talking about?

RE: SP veterans: cutting stuff
The trouble with freezing them is that they are on a moving conveyor when they get cut (not an ideal situation i know), the hidden geometry will help however.
I'm creating a model of a sawmill and its quite a challenge, good fun though.
Thanks for the help guys

RE: SP veterans: cutting stuff
hmmm, it works but is difficult to stop the resulting pieces from flying all over the show. I cant think of a better way so perhaps I will just add some hidden geometry to brace both 'cut' pieces of 'wood'. Thanks for the reply Physicsguy.

SP veterans: cutting stuff
Hey guys, has anyone had a go at 'cutting' something in SP. For example; I'm wanting to show a log being cut, do I need to create two groups and tie them together until the saw hits or something like that? Any ideas are much appreciated.
Also, when I am posting my potentially amateur questions on here, should I put them under a new topic each time or have one topic for many questions?

Groups flipping
Can anyone tell me why, when I attach a joint to some groups, and hit run, they flip on an axis? No matter how I position the joint this continually happens for some groups.
I just read somewhere that components behave the same as groups in SP but the objects that are flipping are components, if i re-create them as groups they are fine.....not sure why

RE: Static mesh acting unusual, or is it me?
Hey! that actually works! Is there any way of knowing these things without spending hours on trial and error. The wiki is useful but it doesn't tell you things like that.

RE: Static mesh acting unusual, or is it me?
Yeah but then convex mesh doesn't wrap the geometry accurately and I end up with an indented object acting as though the void within it is actually solid

RE: Static mesh acting unusual, or is it me?
Another (potentially noob) question in the same vein; If I have a complex shape and I want it to move and interact in SP like it would in real life, I have to group the parts of it individually (see here;http://sketchyphysicstutorial.googlepages.com/shapephysics).
However, when I group all parts individually like that the whole things just falls to pieces when I hit 'run'.
Is there a way to tie those parts together? -
RE: Static mesh acting unusual, or is it me?
Right, tanks for the answer. Is there any robust plugins for exploding groups? There are so many groups within the static mesh that it just bug splats when I try to explode them. Perhaps ill just do it the old fashioned way....one at a time.
thanks phy

Static mesh acting unusual, or is it me?
I am using SP3 to simulate an industrial situation, I have a complex frame as a group with many grouped parts within it, I set it as static mesh but when I hit 'run' any external objects fall straight through it as if it isnt there. The same thing happens when I set its state to 'static'.
Can anyone tell me why this is?? -
RE: Cant open joint settings
haha thanks for that, you couldnt direct me to some good tutorials could you, I obviously need to learn the basics

Cant open joint settings
can anyone tell me why joint settings wont open for me in SP3, I have SU 7 pro

RE: Supersample factor
Wow! That worked Remus, thanks so much, I have been playing with this stuff for days. Am now rendering a 60 meg png in high res...cant wait to print. Thanks very much for your help.

Supersample factor
Im trying to do a high resolution render from sketchup with indigo renderer and apparently need to change my supersample factor to 1, this will apparently allow me to allocate hardware resources more efficiently and attain a larger image file without the renderer crashing (it currently crashes when I try to render over 3000 x 3000 pixels). I have been sent here from the indigo forum and am trying to find out how I actually change the supersample factor to 1.... can someone help me, I'm new to this so if its moderately complex please explain. Thanks.
