Hello everyone!
I would like to export vector lines to illustrator, but to work with the lineweights more efficiently I somehow need to separate furniture, people, building etc. What is your tip to do that? When I export as .eps it retains lineweight of profile lines so I can pick them out easily but that's how far I got to... On google sketchup website it says that dxf. retains layers but I can not open dxf. with Illustrator - can I ?
I tried layout but it also doesn't allow (as far as I know) select layers or particular groups (also it is much slower than illustrator handling the lines)
any help greatly appreciated
EDIT: I found out that .dxf can be opened with Illustrator File>Place but it doesn't retain layers form Sketchup!

...or, for example, you could use this plugin to remove them all at once.
thanks. I tried it but it is really slow/ or at least with the scene I have it doesn't really work...
thank you! actually I wanted to quickly render with V-ray and I found out that there is a tick button in Vray Global Settings that enables to overwrite all materials with certain colour
Hello I have big model with components and groups that have color material and textures. I would like to get rid off all the colors and textures and replace it with white. Is there a more automatic method than opening a group selecting faces and painting with bucket tool on white?
thanks
I am trying to use the Eclate plugin in SU8 with no success.
I made four dimple cubes and either get a bug splat window or after two dialog boxes nothing happens and I dont see the window with options to enter values... any idea why?
Thank you guys for very useful and quick reply! (this forum is amazing)
I just had a look at edgetools by Thomthom as TIG suggested but as I have understood simplyfy curves would rather simplyfy the curves into more rugged even further. (but I might definitely use it for some other stuff
Massimo you are my hero! BezierSpline plugin is just what I was looking for. Curves will intersect with terrain a little bit but I hope to fix it the final image by exporting terrain to Layout first and than overlaying curves on top with different file that has terrain hidden...
Oh I see thank you Massimo!
But regardless of the terrain mesh is there a function in Sketchup to rebuild a curve wit fewer points and therefore smooth it out?
thank you for the plugin!
However I was wondering if you could suggest a tip to rebuild the curves and make them ultra smooth?
Hello everyone!
I have imported mesh to sketchup and I would like to generate nice isolines from it. Can you tell me how can I do that?
thanks in advance

Oh thanks guys! Interesting. I am also very new to processing and never exported anything out of it. But lets say I made a 3d cube in processing and I want to see it in sketchup... Do you know of any resources for dummies that would show me how to do that?
Hello everyone!
Can someone tell me whether it is possible to somehow output geometries from processing to Sketchup?
thank you Frans!
I was doing it in wrong order.
Hello everyone
I am new to SketchyPhysics, I have made a simple cube and try to create a slider to rotate it.
Unfortunately when I create a slider (motor joint) and play the animation the slider does not show up.
When I open others sketchyphysics files form google warehouse I can see the sliders and they work normally.
What am I doing wrong?
I have included my file in attachement (SU 8, SketchyPhysics 3.1)
