Has anyone been able to create a jogged section cut? a shaped section surface? curvilinear section surface?

I would like to have the ability to create jogged section cuts. Just create a surface, make it a component, right click on it and turn it into a section cut.

Just thought I'd post this link to a project recently completed. All design work done in sketchup. Can't imagine the hours to do this in standard cad programs.

When I use a texture or "build-out" cladding and the line spacing is tight, I get the moire effect when the camera is at a distance. I would love to save the time of creating a new surface for distance shots. Is there a technique that anyone is using to reduce or eliminate this effect.

I just heard that there were the most basic of issues of networking. In SUpodium forum TBD(developer) says:
"slight chances to get a Mac port as it is quite complicated and my Powerbook doesnt want to work with the wireless USB that I have (dont have Airport hardware on mac)" I see your pic on there Solo, and that you are trying to help.

So is Kerkythea as good as it sounds, the images that I see compare with some of the best Maya renders I've seen.
Is there a downside? who out there is using it and can you comment on its usability... I learned on Maya and know how difficult it can be to get a good render. I have also used Podium and think it does ok interiors and have just been messing around with IDX Renditioner which I find to be lacking seriously.

I have used Podium on the PC version and would love to have it for the Mac. Has anyone heard if it will be avail for Mac, I heard that the developer was having some issues. Or could you recommend similar plugin that works right in sketchup that can do lights, raytracing, etc.

I am considering "upgrading" from Tiger to Leopard and have heard nothing but bad things about sketchup running on Leopard. I would like the additional features in Leopard, but can't do without sketchup. I have zero problems with it now and I can't deal with lagging performance and the "spinning ball". What do you think?

What are the best ways to reduce sketchup file size? I have an architectural model on an incredibly complicated topography.

The obvious answer was to turn off section planes in the view menu...duh.

ok, have the animation, now how do I hide the section planes and keep the animated cuts?

I am trying to figure out how to animate a section cut through a building. I have seen this done, so I know it is possible. I have obviously tried to animate the section plane, and also the group it is cutting. I am using SU 6 on a Mac. I have been able to animate the sun's position through the day to create a full sun sweep over the days of the solstices for sun studies.
