I get you about a tilt shift camera, I use it in every architectural sceene, but I wanted to emphasise the perspective in this view, so I used normal camera, 20mm lens. There is a texture in every single material in the scene, including bump map, but it is hard to see, because I reduced the pic from its original size 4961x2791 px ( A3 format on 300 dpi), there will be some closeups, so the texture is bit more visible.

In the new office is that a little refrigerator on the left side of the pic? Having a beer fridge so close to one's desk is a great idea!

I have a dual monitor setup at home but my monitors are much smaller. I position them so one is directly in front of me and the other is next to it on the right side. This allows me to treat one as my primary modelling monitor and I keep things like the materials browser panel open on the second. Andrija don't you find working awkward when your modelling window is off to the side like that? I'd get a sore neck - but that beer fridge might make up for any discomfort. 😲

Aha, Pad = Apartement ha ha, I didn't know you call it that way. Well thank you, although it is not an apartement, it is a 3 storey house, but who cares :egrin: it is not finished yet (you can se naked bulbs, no pictures on the wally etc... someday....

It is great that this is my house, so I don't have any ispections coming over to check the handrails, ha ha ha

ha ha Mike, you are calling it neat? there is 400 pounds bike parked in the middle of the room, I am afraid that it is far from neat and tidy, and my last girlfriend wasn't very enthusiastic about cleaning up, so there are not many changes on that field of my life... ha ha

ha ha, yes that would be a great Idea with the zipper, but as I have written before, this "loose end" style is not my idea, a designer from our office thought of that;-)

I did the modeling and rendering and composing/post processing part.

I think it would take you 20 sets of toner to print this thing out, and then it would be all blown away with the first wind;-)

Well, there are few ways of exporting your model with textures directly to max. (uff, I wrote a couple of tutorials couple of years ago on the old forum, but they are deleted, so here me go again, but short version;-)))

Ok

step one, model your model, and texture it in SU.

then click/ export / single object (if you use SU 6, or "by geometry" if you use SU 5 (recommended for export is SU 5))

materials; export texture maps / preserving texture coordinates (all of your geometry is smooth in max) if you export "velding vertices", than you will have faceted faces in max, and you don't want that;-)))

units MUST be set on meters....

click EXPORT

Ok, when in max

Import your model, click materials (M), then choose pick tool, and you will get a subdivided material box. (for example three materials), go one by one, click; Default/ chosse vray mtl, and open ; DIFUSE, and click on the texture taht should carry the same name as your material, and click (show material, that little blue rubic cube;-))) you shoul be able to see your SU material, which have the ability to gain your VRAY attributes 😉

and that is it, enjoy;-))

Hi All. I'm pretty new here, just started frequenting the old ruby forum a few months ago. I haven't been using Sketchup that long, but I really love it. So someone please give me some deeper background. Judging by the reaction, it seems like there is much more to this than just Google deciding to move the forum over to their standard product.
