I believe that translation is your model units from Sketchups orgin at 0.00, 0.00 based on the lat/long of the location you selected, hope that makes sense, not sure if I explained myself clearly

RE: Push/pull double click wrong direction
This also happens to me once in awhile, really frustrating when it does happen, never could find a pattern or somehow reproduce it, just seems to happen randomly.

RE: Twinmotion Trial
Seems to be 30 days, no experience with it, currently using LumenRT.

RE: Large area high resolution topo in SU
@krisidious and pbacot yes it's for visuals for a development, industrial.
@pbacot yes I have 3ds Max but know how to only do simple things in it and have no idea how to create things to the correct size. Originally I wanted to do this in Infraworks but everytime I brought in the shape files for roads, rails, and water areas the terrain was getting all screwy and I kept getting crashes.
@solo I tested just exporting the terrain to LRT on draft and it only took a few minutes so hopefully when everything else is added it won't be too bad or maybe I'll just have to export it in pieces, I think the real issue will be rendering out an animation with superior lighting.

Large area high resolution topo in SU
Didn't know where to post this but thought some of you might find this interesting. All data came from the national map website, img files for elevation, jpg2000 files for the aerials. The img files were put together in Infraworks, sent to 3D Max, exported in sections as 3ds and then imported and put back together in SU. Jpg2000 files were put together in Photoshop, size reduced by a whole bunch, then imported into SU and painted on the topo. Navagation is still pretty fluid as is drawing. Exploding, saving, and moving objects is pretty slow. Next is drawing all the roads and water areas and placing trees and what little buildings there are. Then to see if LumenRt can render it out.

RE: "Cinematic Environment Rendering"
Hi, just bought this package, will let you know what I think after going through it all. Must say though I did not like the privacy policy of your site and the preapproval for paypal requirement.

RE: SketchUcation listed as one of the best CAD sites!
Congrats and I must agree, remember when I first started using SU and found this place, was a great resource then and still is.

RE: Looking for terrain painter
Not sure exactly what you're trying to accomplish but with Google Earth Pro being free now you can export high res images and paint whatever you want in photoshop or similar. You could create a custom terrain jpg by sampling a grass area from one export, sand or asphalt from another export and so on.

RE: Coordinate System Issue
sdmitch, just want to say thanks. Today was the first day I had a chance to use this, nice and simple and works perfect.

This looks very cool, thanks for sharing and also for the good tutorial.

RE: Rhododendron bushes for Thea render + OBJ models
Pixero, just a question, I read in another post that you were using Plant Factory. Can you export in a LumenRT native format and if so can it be set up as the plants in LumenRT, where a proxy can be inserted into SU and when brought into LumenRT it's replaced with the high poly version?

RE: Knock out Aerial Drone and super tough SU Challenge
I think what roland joseph is referring to is that your model is not very defined, I know for a fact that you can get much better results with this workflow, unfortunately I can not post any of my models but here is a link to a video by the Pix4Dmapper team.

RE: New releases of LightUp
+1 on the Perpetual License option, the subscription licensing kept me from evening trying LightUp, I hope other developers whose software is subscription based follow your lead and give us a choice.

RE: PlusSpec
+1 I also hate subscription based software, I still use Photoshop CS6 because I refuse to subscribe to the cloud unfortunately this seems to be the direction software is heading.

RE: Knock out Aerial Drone and super tough SU Challenge
This is great, didn't think anyone else has been doing this. I've been flying the DJI Phantom 2 Vision + along with Pix4Dmapper for about 10 months. I have access to Trimble GPS and robotic total station so my models are georeferenced but I've been able to do some comparisons also and it's surprising how accurate this workflow is. I have point clouds created this way with Pix4Dmapper that are within a couple tenths horizontally and vertically of survey grade and can cover a much larger area in about a quarter of the time (including processing time in Pix4Dmapper) than an actual field survey . Below a screen shot from Pix4Dmapper of a recent flight.
Ps
By georeferenced I mean to State Plane grid as it's already georeferenced from the photo gps tagsMike

RE: Experience importing Sketchup models in PTV VISSIM?
No experience but reading over the FAQ section on the PTV Vissim site it seems skp import is not available in the 64 bit version of that software so the obvious question then is are you running the 32 or 64 bit version?
"Unless you work with networks that need access to additional RAM, we recommend to install the 32-bit edition of Vissim as there are a few limitations with the 64-bit edition:
Background vector image formats: SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is not supported, there is only limited support for DXF/DWG files.
Some external signal control interfaces are not available as 64-bit edition. However, the following interfaces do work both with the 32-bit and the 64-bit edition of VISSIM: RBC, SCATS, SCOOT, VAP, VISSIG.
Some external emission models and external driver models are not available as 64-bit edition.
The DDE interface for deprecated signal control interfaces (external EXE files) is not supported.
Database export only works with Windows 64-bit if a 64-bit OLE driver is installed. Example: Microsoft Office 64-bit is required for an export to Microsoft Access (mdb). With 64-bit we recommend using the MS SQL Server Express Edition instead.
For static 3D models only V3D files are supported (SKP, DWF and 3DS are not available)."Mike
