hey... that was great... I just converted 200 jpegs.

Thanks Gaeius... but the only problem here might be that this feature does not support skm files, so the skm files wont show up in the browser to choose.
Another question off the topic Gaeius... do you have any idea how to 'batch convert' jpegs into skm. I have this large podium texture library(jpegs) but it simply wont show up in sketchup material browser as they are not skm files
Pritam
Thanks a lot... but I just bought 'repaint' script from smustard.
Can anyone please tell me how to replace a material in the model entirely with a different material? The material is applied to objects inside group and components. Is there any plugin?

Sorry guys for being the only one absent for discussion.
Chris you got it right.... perhaps far more than I initially thought. It was nice to see how fast you put it on paper, though just a sketch.
I am presently working on a game which needs me to create 70+ scenes and then handle them. The little palette sketchup provides is grossly inadequate. Certainly, not everybody will agree with me but people who handle large number of scenes will find a point in this.
I feel tabular formats make life easy. To put it in context, a scene can have more than 10 different characteristics. Su scene palette allows you to handle most of them, but when you do it, it is more like a shot in the dark. I mean you dont know what actually has happened to the scenes once you update 10 scenes from a scene. In such a situation a 'scene manager' lets you know what are the characteristics of a particular scene....whether the sun is on or off....whether the shadows are on or off..... which in-model style is applied (a drop-down menu)......Zoom extents on/off.....Unhide all on/off.... include in animation on/off....a drop-down for camera location(auto-named as cam1, cam2 , cam3...).....
the 'unhide all ON' and 'zoom extents ON' can together be used to audit the scenes to get rid of unwanted objects in any scene.
The 'scene v/s Layer' table which Chris mentioned looks good but I fear it might add in confusion as this table can span too long across the scene if you have more than .....suppose 20 layers..which is quite common in drawings imported from cad
the more functionalities we put in this the more it will act as a comprehensive scene manager and can overtake the little one su provides.
I know that most of the functionalities are actually a part of 'styles'. In this case, what can be done is that if a style is set to a scene (in 'scene manager') then it automatically disables all other functionalities related to 'style' for that particular scene.
Maybe, there could also be a functionality to save 'scene state' (like layer state). These 'scene states' could be used to update any scene or a number of scene at a time.
I think we should treat this as a plugin which shows us what is happening to the scenes in a tabular format... more like Chris' idea.

Has anyone come across a 'scene manager' ruby. It might be interesting as the inbuilt 'scene manager' palette is inadequate for advanced users.
Pritam
thanks Chris and Jim. I managed to put all the standard tools in one palette. Now they dont stray around. But the real problem remains with the rubies. I have over 100 plugin tools on screen when I work. You mentioned some method of adding the rubies too. What is it? I'd like to try it before I give up.
Pritam
Ok Chris ,
I did it. It worked.
thou I tried only with few commands as I have to type each and every command name in the text file. Is there any easier way?
I saw this http://bp1.blogger.com/_ogonR-k5OoM/SFQzmxh8aeI/AAAAAAAAHXQ/pifUCnbkhf8/s1600-h/toolbar_commands.jpg on the toolbar webpage. Does this mean that I can drag and drop the tools into a toolbar?
what about rubies. Can they be added too?
Pritam
Has anyone come accross a ruby that can dock the sketchup menus like components browser ,layers brower, shadow browser etc.
I find them too intrusive in my workspace. I would like to give them their own space... as in dock them permanently like how you can do in autocad.
I am also in search of a ruby which can make the sketchup toolbars stay where they are. I use lots of ruby toolbar , so at any time I have more than 50 tools on the sketchup window. But at times they tend to arrange themselves in vertically, horizontally.... basically crazily all over the screen eating up the workspace. Or I have to reaarange them every time i open a new su file.
Yet another request would be for customising toolbars.
Does anyone know?

works perfect. Its a great help. Thanks TIG and Chris
Pritam
hey thanks,
I just downloaded it. Will try it now.

has anyone come accross a script which puts all primitive geometry i.e. edges, faces, construction lines on Layer 0 but retains the layer structure of groups and components.
i came across a script by C. Grant 'put on layer_bmw' , but the shortcoming here is that it transfers even the groups and components to Layer O (this can spoil scenes which are already created).
Does anyone know?
Pritam
Hi Sean,
I read your job post on sketchucation forum. I think I would like to take a look at it.
I do professional sketchup works. You can view my works on this link http://imaginestudio3d.googlepages.com/

Hi Fredo,
I got it.. I got it to work.
Few days ago I had problems running podium renderer in sketchup. Somebody suggested that that removing 'matchbox' plugin might solve the problem. And it had worked.
i did the same this time. I removed matchbox again and then 'round edge' worked perfectly.
It means that the problem is with 'matchbox' plugin. Or it could be that I am using some earlier version of matchbox which was not compatible with other plugins.
anyways , thanks.
iam also thankful for all the wonderful work that you and Whatt are doing. I realised that I saved 2 hours of work yesterday simply thru round edge plugin.
Do you have any blog where all your plugins listed?
Thanks
Pritam
hey.. could anybody help. I tried this plugin called 'ROUND EDGE' today on skp 7. I made a cube and tried the round edge option. All it did was it placed two lines on either side of the ONE lone edge of the cube. There wasnt anything else.
am I using outdated version?
Does it work with skp 7 ?
I downloaded it from this thread http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=10370&st=0&sk=t&sd=a (the plugin is attached in the first post by Fredo).
Any idea where can I find the latest version?

well... to be frank there is no card at all. My nvidia fried a month ago. I have a core 2 duo with 4 GB RAM. Even without a graphics card there is a lot of difference in the performance with 'hardware acceleration' ON and 'hardware acceleration' OFF.
Would it help if i update the drivers of the motherboard.
I use su 7. It cant select correct faces when I put 'hardware acceleration' ON under window>preferences>openGL tab.
It tends to select face behind the current face. I tried solving it with the 'correct reverse picking driver bug' option but it dint help.
I cant do without hardware acceleration as the file are big.
Any ideas.
Hi all
I am in dire need of this shadow_sequence plugin. Could anyone tell me from where to download it and how to install it and how to run it?
