Well obviously the answer to my previous post here is yes. But it took a few years...

RE: How to get near and far clipping plane of view?
The actual clipping of your models is not an end-user feature either... But does the new existence of this checkbox mean that a plugin could be written that uses this plugin? Or are the values in this camera settings window not approachable through ruby?

RE: How to get near and far clipping plane of view?
So I've accidentally stumbled upon this awesome thing.
I typed the above mentioned command into the ruby console of SU2017.
And guess what? There's a new checkbox. It allows you to adjust your near and far clipping planes.
After years and years of toiling and sighing, they allow you to solve this issue for your models and they don't even mention it in the release notes...

Thanks Box, that's exactly what I'm looking for.

Model size reduction/Model analyzer
I am looking to reduce the file size of a model I have been given, from roughly 100MB to roughly 50MB.
However, I want to loose as little info in the model as possible. Is there such a plugin as a model analyzer? A plugin that would tell me for example, which components are the heaviest on polygons and MB's, which textures are the heaviest, and more such info.

RE: Vray load error
You may have installed the 32 bit version where you needed to install the 64 bit version or vice versa.

RE: Fishing net modeling
Guys if you're making those tubes merely to create accurate shadows on the ground... you know you can switch on 'from edges' in the shadow window, right?

RE: [Plugin] SketchUcation Tools 2.6
I was wondering about the update system; it's not working as I would expect.
I have some plugins by Fredo installed; these come with its own update checker. However, I don't really like the way it pops up every so many days. It's a bit intrusive - especially if I have to teach. Pupils are easily spooked by an extra toolbar or window.
All that aside, however, I still leave it on, since it regularly shows updates that do not show in the SketchUcation Plugin store. I can see that my installed Fredo-plugins have different version numbers from the ones in the list, but still there is no update button, and it doesn't show up in the updates list.
So eventually I clicked on through until a button 'install extension' became visible. This is a bit counter-intuitive though. -
RE: Base Camp 2014.
Yay I'll be coming too!
And I'm bringing my boss (oh wait he's paying so technically he's bringing me )
And I'm bringing my hubbie, who's going to ski while I attend conference items... but that's ok, I won't be skiing anyway since I'll be bringing my unborn wee one way too dangerous
