NEW Forum Software Issues

@Mike-Amos The current vibe is a skeleton which we will improve over time.
There's many aspects that I am not a fan of either. But the previous was too old and had many security issues we needed to constantly patch. This is huge improvement over that.
Once we get a handle on the current quirks we are seeing then we can start polishing.

@orgelf Hi,
Thank you for describing the problem. Based on what you wrote, I think you might had bumped into one of the forum's limitations.
The limitation settings for images currently are:- Max image size: 10000 KiB
- Max image width X height: 5000 X 5000 pixels
- Max upload rate: 10 images per minute
Is it possible you reached one of these limits the other day?
These are in place to prevent spam.
yes, the 10 pictures per minute limitation. thanks

Does the new
design work well on cellphones/tablets? -
@majid looks like this on iPhone XR
-
@Rich-O-Brien And what about answering a post on cellphone?
-
@majid I'm replying from my phone with this
-
@Rich-O-Brien So, this is what I see, and it seems working..
-
I have no access to "other languages" sub forums.
How may I and if there is a plan to get them back? -
The migration to the new software has broken all the code snippets (both inline and code blocks.)
Punctuation characters have been replaced with HTML Character entity codes.
So, this new forum uses markdown instead of bbCode ?

@Dan-Rathbun
Thanks for the info, but we all ready know that, and @Gábor is working on a fix for it...
Currently new posts are unaffected, but any existing posts containing 'code'/'ruby' snippets are FUBAR! -
@TIG Good to know. (I did not see mention of the issue.)
-
I love how the "Latest" on official forum redirects you to the red "last visit" break line - very clear and convinient. This and pencil "edit" button - would be nice to steal them

Image sizes
I did search this category but got no hits.
Discourse forums allow setting a size for images via the addition of a pipe character and size following the image filename within the square brackets, viz:
![cascader_toolbar.png|32x32](/assets/uploads/files/1718236046527-cascader_toolbar.png)
But specifying size this way is not honored by SCF's forum software.
Is there some other way?
@Gábor ?

@Dan-Rathbun Hi Dan,
Sorry for the late reply. I'll look into the possibility of image-sizing by the user.
About the search: By clicking the cogs near the search box, you can set where to search.

Something else of note, there doesn't appear to be a method or icon for uploading models. You can link an image or upload an image but not a .skp file (or any other for that matter).
This would appear to be a 'Reputation' issue as it errors to that if you try to drag and drop a file.
As @Dave-R can confirm, he as a moderator has the file upload icon but not we the great unwashed.
Makes it difficult to see what people are working with. -

There is no link between Reputation and File Upload permissions in the software. Only thing I can set is the file extension and the file size.
You can see what we have set here.
Are you getting any kind of errors messages or alerts when you try?
-
@Rich-O-Brien
I get this if I drag and drop a file, my basic template, so very small.
And I see no other way to add it. -
@Box OK, I try fix it. So its a permission issue related to the group your user is in.
-
@Rich-O-Brien
Now I'm struggling to link a specific post or even thread.
Look at the 'Open areas and rounded surface' thread. -

What I do is type the name of the topic in the search and drag drop it into the compose area
