Joint Push Pull not working
-
The joint push pull and draw on surface is not responding in any of my models. I have SU pro on a Mac. While the JPP and Lib Fredo6 tool bars show up nothing happens when I click on them. A few days ago I did get it working although the yellow parameter rectangle was blanked out. I have done numerable uninstalls and downloading the latest LibFredo_V13.4.rbz and JointPUSHPULL_v4.6q.rbz and restarting SU but cannot get any response.. Any ideas?

NeilCould you open the Ruby Console before launching JPP and check if there are error messages. Thanks

Do you have the current version of the Sketchucation Tool installed? It is required.
Pleas update your forum profile. It shows you are still using Sketchup 2013 Free/Make. That informmation helps us help you.

OK Upgrading to Sketchucation 4 has solved this problem. Thank you Dave. I'll ask sooner next time! I filled in the details on my profile, went back to the SketchUp Pro 2022 and clicked on the JPP. A text box came up prompting me to upgrade to the latest sketchucation and bingo it worked! (This box for some reason hadn't come up before..)
And JointPushPull did the trick straight away -such a versatile extension. I wanted to push/pull a vase shape out to give it thickness for a butterfly feeder I'm working on. I had been using follow me but never could guess the proportions for the shape it generated nor get a perfect solid. I really do appreciate these plugins especially this one - it makes things possible that just weren't before. Thank you for doing them.

Glad you got it working and thanks for updating your profile.
It's odd you couldn't get a solid with Follow Me. You should be able to do that.

Joint push pull is a tool in SketchUp that allows you to extrude or cut away a section of a 3D model by pushing or pulling it along a path. There could be several reasons why joint push pull might not be working properly. Here are a few possible explanations:
The path is not properly defined: In order to use joint push pull, you need to first define a path for the tool to follow. This can be a line, a curve, or a face. Make sure that the path you have selected is properly defined and closed, and that it is not self-intersecting.
The selection is not properly defined: Joint push pull only works on a single, contiguous selection of faces. Make sure that you have only selected the faces that you want to extrude or cut away, and that there are no gaps or holes in your selection.
The model is not properly oriented: Joint push pull works best when the model is oriented in a way that allows the tool to push or pull along a straight line. If the model is oriented at an angle, it may be difficult to get the tool to work properly. Try rotating the model or adjusting the path to make it more straightforward.
There are intersecting faces: If there are faces that intersect with each other in your model, joint push pull may not work properly. Try using the "Erase" tool to remove any intersecting faces before using joint push pull.
There is a problem with the software: If none of these suggestions help, it is possible that there is a problem with the software itself. In this case, try restarting SketchUp or reinstalling the software to see if that fixes the issue.
