[Plugin Beta] Animator - v4.0a - 02 Apr 24
-
Hope to support Enscape render
-
Hello.
First of all, I hope you understand the awkwardness of English.
Writing on the translator.
I used the animator 2.1a version and thea render v2.
I was using it well, but after updating the animator to 2.3c, I can't turn it on.
When I press the render button, the word "no clip defined in model" appears.
So do files with dozens of clips.
Everything went dead.I want to use version 2.1a again, but it is not possible because the period of use has expired.
If I set my computer time to the past, I can use it, but because thea render license is not available, rendering is not possible.
How shall I do it?
Please help me.T.T -

First of all, can you play the animation interactively within Animator
-
Can you generate the video in natural mode (No rendering by Thea)?
-
Can you open the Ruby console while you are in Animator, to see i there are errors showing.
Finally, the best would be that you post or PM me your model so that I can have a closer look.
Fredo
PS: do not play with the clock of your PC, as you can have many other bad side effects on other applications.

Youtube VideoFor the rotation, you need to select the two arms objects, instead of the components which includes both arms.

I'm having the same issue since upgrading to v2.3. In response to your questions to @chals375
- Yes, I can play the animation without any problems in Animator
- Yes, I can generate the video in natural mode. Also, Thea render's animation tab can render Sketchup default animations but does not open a dialog when selecting Animator as the plugin.
- Ruby console does not display any errors when trying to render from Thea Render
Rendering with Thea works just fine if I initiate it from Animator, but the only reason I want to render from Thea is so that I have control over what format the exported image sequence is in. If there is a way to do that from Animator then that would also solve my problem.
PS. I love all your plugins. Thank you for all your contributions to the Sketchup community!!

I did not test with this version of Thea 2.0. I only have v1.5 on my laptop.
So if you have it already, please make a test on a simple animation, opening the Ruby Console to check if there are error messages (normally you should only see traces of the execution).
For Thea, make sure you use a Presto method, not interactive, with a reasonable sample/px, typically 10 to 20. This keeps the rendering under a reasonable amount of time.

I have no API to Maxwell, so it is not supported in Direct mode by Animator.
And I doubt that Maxwell support the reverse mode (as Thea does), because they would have contacted me.
So short answer is NO.

Any advice concerning ffmpeg video download. I followed the link and the FFmpeg.org pdf directions but didn't find the exact steps available and got into a baited ads trap and downloaded similarly labeled ffmpeg files that were unrelated. I successfully created an edit in animator and would love to get it to mp4.

For Mac, here is the download page.
Then I suggest you pick the latest build of FFmpeg for Mac (dated 3 Jan 2020).
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/macos64/static/ffmpeg-20200102-81172b5-macos64-static.zip
Just extract the ffmpegexecutable in the **
bin
**subfolder and put it in a known place where you will point to from Animator.
