Whoa...I can think of many uses for the PNG export. Especially for post pro work.

Another thing with the arch tool- After making an arch in a corner, we can then double-click on the other corners to get matching arches. No more using the measuring tape for this purpose. πŸ˜„

I've been following this thread and have seen some potentially really useful features of 2015 that I might not have (probably wouldn't have) found on my own.

If I could ask one thing. Could you specify whether a tip is for the Make version or just the Pro version? Don't want to get all excited about something just to find out it would be kinda expensive for me to be able to use it πŸ˜†

        Thanks

Mistro, That is what I was showing above, the only difference is when there are two edges it will remove the corner while on 3 edges it only draws the arc.
You can see the difference here.

As to needing to use the Tape to make your corners even, that's all part of the Inference system and has been around for a long time. By using the inference colours you know when your arc is positioned correctly to get an even fillet. If you need perfectly sized even fillets you only need to measure one point, the starting point of the first arc.

A lot of people seem unaware of how useful Magenta is.

This is inferencing two even fillets in SU8

And the new look of inference and double click in SU2015

Box-I wasn't paying attention to the arch size in your first post so didn't pick up on that. Now I feel like a noob again. I was aware of the magenta before but never gave it the respect it deserved. So this is a "Duh" moment for me as I think of how much time I could've saved instead of using the measuring tape in past projects. Guess I need more speed modeling practice. πŸ’š

I hadn't found these new features yet - 'thought it was just rotated rectangles. A great new box of tricks - I know I'll be using all of them.

The double click on the arc tool is also handy for making curved paths.

                    • All of my keyboard shortcuts have been preserved from SU2014! It has been a particularly painless upgrade process this time round.

BUT be warned that if you had a shortcut to a menu item under 'Plugins' it won't work.
This is because v2015 renamed that menu item 'Extensions'.
If you only have a few you could reset that manually.
There is a simple fix if you have lots, is to Export the v2015 Prferences from Preferences > Shortcuts.
Then edit that .dat file using Notepad[++] and find/replace 'Plugins/' with 'Extensions/'.
Save the .dat file and Import it under Preferences > Shortcuts.
When prompted accept the overwriting of the unusable 'Plugins/' shortcuts with the 'Extensions/' version.
Even if you do not have a particular Plugin installed that would appear under the 'Extensions' rather than the old 'Plugins' menu, that shortcut remains valid and will work should you choose to install the matching Plugin it refers to...

I took SU2015 as an opportunity to house clean as I have always ctrl+c copied plugins from one version to the next and the same with my shortcuts. I manually reinstalled all of my favorite plugins and tossed the old ones that never really used. Then I ran this script in the ruby console and went through all of my shortcuts. Some I knew, some I had no idea.
