Sketchup crashes when starting

Is that with or without plugins installed?
-
this is a stock download as it comes off the trimble site. never had this problem on earlier versions of sketchup

Download CCleaner and run both cleaner and registry section. I had the same error a long time ago, tried CCleaner, and got the magic.

CCleaner did not work

I find that these registry cleaners can mess up more than they fix. I'd really not recommend them.

Uninstall 2013.
Reinstall 2013, this time 'run as admin'.
Report back... -
Been there done that, same issue.
-
Did you install it 'as admin'?
Then set it to always 'run as admin'? -
yup, really scratching my head on this.

Out of interest, what is/was your GC / drivers set ?
It might help others to be forewarned... -
Sketchup was running into problems using the Microsoft surface PRO after updating the graphics drivers from INTEL's site. Microsoft has written a custom driver for the surface pro's chipset and so a conflict was created. Removing Intel's generic driver and rolling back to Microsoft's resolved all issues.

I will try to upgrade the graphic card drivers.
you may want try also to disable the SU hardware acceleration (= OpenGL) from outside SU by using our concerning standalone support tool (Win only).
free for private & commercial usage (no adware/spyware/installation)
[update]
tool updated for being compatible with SU v2013/2014.

hey tig i found the culprit rb folder crashing my sketchup and it was your axo+iso plugin. Any ideas how to make the plugin work? reply ASAP..
Thanks in advance. -
I can't see how the axo-iso RB could do this...
It's very simple...
Does SketchUp crash when SketchUp is starting or when you try and run the RB ?I have it installed in v2017 and it works just fine !

Hey TIG I have the same problem now, it crashes just after opening it

Crashes immediately after opening are typically related to issues with the graphics drivers. With SketchUp 2017 and later, the graphics card must be up to the task of properly supporting OpenGL. What is the graphics card? Try updating the graphics drivers. If the graphics card is not up to the task, you may need to go back to SketchUp 2016 which has the option to dump rendering duties to the CPU.
When you installed SketchUp, did you right click on the installer file and select Run as administrator from the context menu?
