[Plugin Library] LibFredo6 - v14.9a - 06 Dec 24

It is certainly an issue on that device.
Your original post was for SketchUp 2021, your Window > Libfredo Settings > Fredo6 Plugins Information for Sketchucation Support output is for SketchUp 2022 and your work laptop is SketchUp 2023.
Your work laptop is behaving correctly.
If we look at your activation we see everything activated last year on 3 separate devices.
Have you issue on these devices?
What's different on this device that led to this instability? How did you migrate extensions?
You don't have a license for Clothworks associated to your account.

Hi Rich. My original post certainly was for SketchUp 2021. As I couldn't solve this problem, I uninstalled SketchUp 2021 and installed SketchUp 2022, but the problem persisted from the first start.
I checked my work laptop (SketchUp 2023) and it works perfectly.
I use three devices:
- This home PC, where i'm getting this issue (it was the first device for plugins activation)
- Work laptop (SU 2023 - no problem)
- Work PC (SU 2022 - no problem)
I don't know what caused this problem. It started suddenly one day to another. Even uninstalling everything, deleting all involved folders and registry references and then installing a clean new version, the problem keeps going.
I tried to release all license seats, but some keep unreleasable, don't know why...
-
Which device is unreleasable?
I'll point Fredo towards this thread to see if he has ideas. Everything points towards a funky/corrupt license environment.
You didn't copy your plugins and scf licenses for other to this one? Or something in line with that?
With Sketchucation Tools 4.3.1 and Libfredo 14.1 installed you should just get the licenses folder setup ready for accepting licenses and activation.
If you want to go to extreme lengths you could rename your plugins folder to !!!plugins to prevent it loading. SketchUp will create a new plugins folder when you start it.
Then install a fresh Sketchucation Tools and Libfredo and a single bundle extension. If that is still the same then delete this new plugins folder and rename !!!plugins back to plugins to restore it.
I don't expect it to work as the issue is around scf license.
I've pinged Fredo to see if he can help better than me
-
I really don't know which device is unreleaseable, because i don't know where to find HW ID to compare.
I first activated plugins in home PC, then at work PC and laptop. Everything went ok until now.
I tried something in my home PC and work laptop, as I know in my laptop works ok:
- Deleted C:\Users\SomeName\AppData\Local\SCF Licenses
- Deleted C:\Users\SomeName\AppData\Local\SCF
Then restarted SU at both:
- my work laptop creates again SCF folder, home PC doesn't.
- None of them creates again SCF Licenses folder.
- I noticed work laptop has LIBFREDO6_DATA_Dir, home PC doesn't.
Could it be about this folders? Let's see.
Thanks for your help Rich.

Last try this morning:
Repaired SU 2022, deleted Plugins folder, installed just SketchUcation Tools and LibFredo6:

Then installed one random Fredo6 plugin (VisuHole):

If the SCFLicense folder is missing something is stopping it being created, or found.
Is this folder there ?
C:\Users\javi\AppData\Local\SCF Licenses
Check the permissions to your Local folder allow folders to be added and files made/read...Also look in your Roaming folder and ensure that its contents are writable etc...
Perhaps SketchUp is having an issue with the contents of subfolders in Plugins etc...The folder named exactly "
SCFLicense
" is part of the installation of the SketchUcation extension installation... It contains many vital files and subfolders used in the licensing system.
Is it there ?
C:\Users\javi\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\SketchUp\Plugins\SketchUcation\SCFLicense
If it's not there please try reinstalling the latest toolset from the SCF Plugin|ExtensionStore [v4.3.1].
That folder is most definitely included in the RBZ installer... -

C:\Users\javi\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\SketchUp\Plugins\SketchUcation\SCFLicense
I've reinstalled SU 2022, started and just installed SketchUcation Tools.
Extensions > SketchUcation > SCFLicense: Global Status...
does nothing. This is gonna be next "X Files" movie...
-
C:\Users\javi\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2022\SketchUp\Plugins\SketchUcation\SCFLicense
The above path doesn't contain your licenses. It is extension related.
The path below is where you are experiencing issues...
C:\Users\javi\AppData\Local\SCF Licenses
This folder should have the .txt files and the signature file.

Well, first problem solved: SU now reads my licenses at
C:\Users\Javi\AppData\Local\SCF Licenses

Second part is still unreachable: if I install a Fredo6 plugin, I get the same error. This is what I get after installing Curviloft:
Fredo6 Plugins Information on 2023-08-01 15;28;54 +0100 -------------------------- - Platform; x64-mswin64_140 - Ruby; 2.7.2 - Sketchup; 22.0.354 - LibFredo6; v14.1a - LibFredo6 Binary loaded - Sketchucation ExtensionStore; 4.3.1 - SCFLicense; v6.1a - 72 - Fredo6 Plugins Error; #<TypeError; no implicit conversion of nil into String> c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/sketchucation/scflicense/scflicenseruby.rbe;603;in `exist?' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/sketchucation/scflicense/scflicenseruby.rbe;603;in `licensed?' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/sketchucation/scflicense/scflicenseruby.rbe;331;in `initialize' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/sketchucation/scflicense/scflicenseruby.rbe;73;in `new' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/sketchucation/scflicense/scflicenseruby.rbe;73;in `licensed?' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/fredo6_!libfredo6/top_libfredo6.rbe;797;in `block in info' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/fredo6_!libfredo6/top_libfredo6.rbe;791;in `each' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/fredo6_!libfredo6/top_libfredo6.rbe;791;in `info' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/fredo6_!libfredo6/lib6plugin.rbe;368;in `block in populate_support_menu' c;/users/javi/appdata/roaming/sketchup/sketchup 2022/sketchup/plugins/fredo6_!libfredo6/lib6traductor.rbe;1385;in `block in add_command'
I'm thinking it's because I have customized Windows paths at Advanced System Setup (even though I haven't had this problem in years):
- C:\Windows\Temp --> D:-WinCache\Windows\Temp
- C:\Users\javi\AppData\Local\Temp --> D:-WinCache\Temp
I think this because in my work laptop, SCF and SCF Licenses are subfolders at
C:\Users\Javi\AppData\Local
, but in my home PC is SCF is atD:\-WinCache\SCF
and SCF Licences keeps as aC:\Users\Javi\AppData\Local
subfolder. -
It seems I'm in a dead end... "SCFLicense: Global Status" refuses to show, even LibFredo6 is installed or not. Then, the same issues as posted before.
Any idea?

I think this unconventional path is likely your issue...
D:\-WinCache\SCF
TIG and Fredo would be better placed to comment on the nuances of the 'ideal' setup for such scenarios.

I tried with stock Windows paths (no work) and creating a Windows symbolic link
C:\Users\Javi\AppData\Local\SCF
-->D:\-WinCache\SCF
, so it uses the first one, but really stores in the second one (no work). The strangest is it's been working in SU 2021 for years with this path configuration, and suddenly it doesn't... that's the point.

I am getting the same error after installing the latest plugin (libfredo) I do not what to do. It cannot install -
Have you tried the installation that's recommended ?
And restarted SketchUp... -
After Installing your tools, it wouldn't work as described and it froze up my regular mesh tools so that they also didn't function. I tried to uninstall it and no matter what I did it still shows up on my Extensions Manager as installed. It have really frustrating not to have a reliable tool that not only will not function properly but then doesn't have an appropriate and reliable method to uninstall. The product may work for others, but for me I just want to get rid of it. HOW CAN I REMOVE THIS UTILITY FROM MY SYSTEM????

Are you still using SketchUp 2016 as indicated in your forum profile?
-
it does not offer the otion to download anything. Not even after signing up for a free profile.
-
You download RBZs from the PluginStore and install them using the Extension Manager dialog's install button...
Restart SketchUp to sync everything...
LibFredo6 offers support to Fredo's other extensions [which you also need to install].
You also need the SketchUcation toolset installing, because that does the licensing stuff used by many of Fredo's paid-for extensions.
Using the SketchUcation ExtensionStore dialog to auto-install other plugins sidesteps the need to down their RBZs... so perhaps install that first, then use it to auto-install the others... -
How do I download into sketchup 2023. Did I get scammed? its so stupid. Explain to me NOW!
