              Not come across these, what are they for and how are they integrated?

                  @Mike-Amos

                  I can scan an object and this app makes it possible to import it to sketchup

                    Just downloaded the scan, what is the process to import to Sketchup please?

                      If you watch the first video you will see you need a SketchUp Labs extension to try it out.

                        OK, got that app but the file is reported as having no splat contained. Talking about the tramway model.

                          The PLY file is a point cloud not a 3DGS gaussian splat.

                          If this was a true gaussian splat file it would be much larger than 7.1mb

                              Yep, that point cloud had colour data applied to points.
