http://sketchuptips.blogspot.se/p/my-plugins.htmlyes- that's it. However, when you hit the link to the Extension Store, it's not there.
And when you use his manual download rz file...that's a dead link too. It's such a major oversight in stock sketchup....not having a toggle when you create a layer that prevents it from being added to existing and/or future scenes.
And now my lifesaver is gone. -
I posted in an old thread about this a couple of days ago, but unfortunately it got deleted and didn't uncover anything. I'm completely new to extensions, and am not code-savvy, so if you find any solution to this, I'd love to know too! Thanks

This is a great plugin if you can find it!

Any ideas???
Have you tried looking in previous installation(s) Plugins folder? (& just bring it forward to 2018)
Local installation search for it? (add_hidden_layer.rb)C
-
You might also be able to find it using wayback machine website for old archived websites. Have helped me on occasion.
-
I've got it. Don't know if it's appropriate to pass it on? Does it even run on 2018?

If you feel it's OK I would love to give it a try.

The author removed the plugin. Why, I don't know. It's best to contact him--send him a private message--to see if you can get a copy of it. I'm sure he has a reason for removing it and he may not want it distributed. Or he may not care one way or the other but the right thing would be to ask, first.

His blog appears to have stopped four years ago.
I sent him a PM but I'm not optimistic that he will reply.
If anyone could share the rbz or has an alternate extension I would sincerely appreciate it. Without this plugin, the cleanup work on previous scenes is so painful. -

If anyone could share the rbz or has an alternate extension I would sincerely appreciate it. Without this plugin, the cleanup work on previous scenes is so painful. It seems he removed all of his plugins. However last year I downloaded a bunch, among these were:
jf_add_layer_v1.1.1.rbz
jf_attach_camera_to_sun_v1.0.0.rbz
jf_centering_v1.0.rbz
jf_custom_toolbars_v1.5.2.rbz
jf_faster_obj_exporter_v1.2.rbz
jf_freedxf_v16a.rbz
jf_get_dimensions_v1.0.rbz
jf_mesh_importer_v15.4.rbz
jf_moveit_v2.1.0.rbz
jf_mover_easings_v0.6.0.rbz
jf_north_angle_slider_v2016-10-09.rbz
jf_protrude_v2015-12-06.rbz
jf_random_tin_v1.2.rbz
jf_rotcam90_v1.0.rbz
jf_save-copy-as-2.0.rb
jf_scene_units_v1.0.rbz
jf_zoom_selection_v1.0.rbzAnyone knows for sure whether it is OK to distribute them here or not?
-
Unless you have Jim's express consent, then I think that you should NOT redistribute them.
Certainly not in an open forum like here.Reusing them for your personal use is fine...
-
Then I won't redistribute them. I guess legally if he did not explicitly allow redistribution, it is not allowed. Still, just removing all plugins distributed over years without leaving a note is pure anti-social behavior in my book.
