I really like that example model showing of the textures. Any chance you can do a version without the Artisan comparison. I would rather not try to make public comparisons with Artisan as I'm afraid it would be seen as an attempt to compete.

        Hi Thomas
your request surely is justified and necessary.
I hope that my cited example above was not misunderstood this way.
The shown geometry comparison had only a learning purpose. The SubD Quad-Face-way for me is a second and new route to go...
Quite sure I'm happy to have both tools now, especially because not every jobs requires quads πŸ˜„

Hi - to get any first experiences I did a little testing, mainly based on Cottys SubD_04 model above. I was interested on how an existing texture behaves to the SubD process - it's amazing how confidently and fast that works ...

Cotty, how did you get this rainbow-colour on that subd23 chair which looks so great - is it texturing?

Hi. I really like that example model showing of the textures. Any chance you can do a version without the Artisan comparison. I would rather not try to make public comparisons with Artisan as I'm afraid it would be seen as an attempt to compete.

Edit: I meant this in the context of that I wanted to repost the image myself. I don't have any objections to people making comparisons.

Thomthom, your script is soo incredible...
I'll try to tackle terrain meshes with SUbD asap, but I have to understand basic quad modelling firsthand... Do you have any interesting link using quadface tools?

I'd recommend looking at the links on the SUbD website about quads:
                        http://evilsoftwareempire.com/subd/quads

Down the page it include a link to QuadFace Tools manual (old and need in update).

Sure. I'll get you setup with your own EDG3D account so you can embed whatever you want.

But here's that model to embed.

I'm working on a tool to convert quad SUbD files into solids using another app. I've been having bit of fun testing the files posted to this thread. SCF_Cotty_subd29 was an intriguing one with its complexity. Attached is a STEP file of the resulting NURB shelled and split.

I am having too much fun with SubD/QuadFace/VT to not post something...

A face I did this morning:

And the original half face mesh:

Are you using a different viewer than Box? I see on his embedded model one could toggle the wireframe.
