Ghost In The Machine

It's been a while since I installed the latest SU8 update or any plugins and I've run into a problem with SU's UI.
When in Parallel Projection or Two Point Projection SU will spontaneously revert back to regular Perspective without any prompting (even if I'm not holding my mouse).
The other problem I'm having is with drop-down menus. When I call up a menu and hover over the function I want the heading will cycle between that function and a heading several places above in the menu. I then have to try and time the click of my mouse with the moment the function I want is highlighted.
Sometimes restarting SU will cure these issues, but the problems eventually come back after about 20 minutes.
Has anyone come across this before, or have any suggestions?

Does this happen when you disable plugins?

What?

Did you rule out the mouse?

Maybe
- Graphics-Card illness ?
- Mouse sickness ?
- OS dying ?
Check th drivers are up to date and that the GC allows Sketchup to adjust settings - also try varying the Sketchup Preferences OpenGL settings and see if that helps ?

SU seems to be behaving itself today. The only thing to change is the fact that Win7 has finally been able to configure the latest MS updates.
If it happens again I'll try and rule out the mouse and 3Dconexxion (could be a conflict there, but it hasn't been an issue before). If that doesn't work I'll start disabling plugins.

Basically the rollover state flashes on and off, except that when it's in the 'up' state another menu heading rolls over. It's almost like there are two mice fighting for different menu selections.

I've had similar weird things happening but discovered it was a worn out mouse. I replaced it and the problems went away.

The mouse is pretty much brand new, but it could be a driver issue......assuming the issue comes back.
