Poll on ways people use SketchUp

Only 5 items? There's so much more...
I've listed my uses on the original thread.
If the poll let me weight items, then more than 5 would be better. I am really hoping to find out what SketchUp is used the most for, so if a person uses it 90% of the time for Landscape design, but also does several other things, I want to only count the main use.
Even though you posted your uses earlier, it would help for you to add your top 5 uses on this poll. I think we might all learn something. I assumed that most users were designing exterior buildings and landscapes. But I may learn differently when this exercise is completer.

The poll only allows five options and is therefor irrelevent, missing out uses for the product will skew results.

nah.. too many options and there wouldn't be any results.. every option would have 50 votes each.
(and I'm feeling a little lonely with my single vote for 'job costing' up there )

I answered based on what I do when I'm at the office.
When I'm at home working on my own project the result is very different.Would it not be better to use a proper poll solution that let you weight, actually limit the number of checkboxes ticked and allow people to answer for private and work usage?

Hmm.. I've cast my votes, but just noticed 'event & conference planning' - which I do a lot of! I'd like to be the 1% but I know quite a few exhibition companies who use SU - so there's lots more of us.

I use Sketchup for 3D Virtual World Content creation mostly, but I also it for designing floor plans for my new house I want to build. I also use it for tutorials, but again, those are just for the VW creating community.
I would use it for animations, but in its current state, animations can't be created or exported into the VW's I create for.
The poll mostly covers things I do not use it for, but I did choose the 5 that I thought related to me.

I know you're getting tired of comments rather than votes, but.... these are arguably all kind of essentially, though not exclusively architectural:

- 3D Massing studies
- Architectural Design and Visulization
- Construction Documents
- Construction Illustrations
- Convert 2D drawings to 3D for visualization
- Home Improvement Design
- interior design
- Site planning
- Space planning/ layout
- Store Planning
- Sun and Shadow Studies
Balance among the choices would be helpful, as I'm sure you agree.
Whatever, no body wants a quagmire... perhaps a committee to design your poll, WITH a focus group?

Making 3D models of objects for use in other software...
for the moment.
The closest I found. -
Although fundamental architectural design is the leading use category and is likely encompassed in other uses there is plenty of diversity in other uses of SketchUp. These other uses aggregate to a pretty large percentage of use, maybe half overall. Differentiating Free vs Pro users may change the percentages, but this leads me to be concerned on what I imagine Trimble's strategic focus will be. Maybe half the users will not fit.

Thanks for all the help and responses on this.
It looks like the top uses are:
- Architectural Design and Visualization
- Interior design
- Product design
- Renderings and Presentations, and
- FUN!
Now my colleague who prompted the original question is wondering what industry SketchUp Users work in, so I want to start another poll on industries - probably requiring each respondent to select just one.
I can include about 30 in the poll - how about dropping over to this thread, and adding some ideas...

As a set designer I'd say that having a option of "set, prop and vehicle design" are all very different things and I for one have never designed a car! Great to see so many different disciplines being catered for by one great bit of software. Please Trimble be kind and not forget about the non-architectural user base.
