    Here's one for the gurus. . .
Im drawing a Lottery ball pin and want to fill it with ping pong balls, but I am not sure how to fill the bin with the balls in a random like way. I am not good with Compo Spray. But that is the first thing I thought of to use, and I am just not good with it. It kept asking me if I wanted to go ahead and add 8000 copies. . ..

    uh. . .NO.

I need about 50 or so inside the bin. as you can see I am trying to find an easy way to give this a random look. Right now I just have them all lined up. dumb.

    See image below. Any ideas?

    thx,

    David

I'm not really up on Sketchy Physics but I wonder if it might be the way to go. Could you put a temporary opening on the top of the basket and set the balls up to drop into it when you say, "Go?"

That would be terrific except for one little hiccup. I havent even looked at SuPhy in about 4 years. I wouldnt know how to begin.

        thanks for the thought tho.

Sorry I can't tell you where to begin either. You might pose your question on the Sketchy Physics forum, though. One of those rocket scientists will probably have the answer for you.

Not exactly . . .but thanks for the effort / response.

I think my image above was misleading. What I need is to show this bin (Image A) filled with ping pong balls like image B. I am just not sure how to make this happen in a fairly natural random way. . .

A few years back I did something similar with spray cans dropping out of a box.

It works fine if you use the earlier link as a base. I'd try again except I don't have it installed.

I guess I didn't understand that the attached model was a SUPhys model. I guess I am going to have to learn it in order to do what I need to do.

                          Thanks for the help.

You can use that πŸ˜‰ (file linked)
Take any number of Spheres you want (groups or components) at any place above the SkateRamp πŸ˜‰
                            Launch Sketchyphysics
Make a Pause at any time you want
                            Open the Outliner
Select Spheres inside the Oultliner else the animation go to the start!!!
Copy / Past balls in your project πŸ˜‰

During the animation you can take and move any ball !
If you want another curvated form blocks : just make 2 separated blocks A & B! (groups or components)
                            StaticMesh / Convexhull

                            Have fun πŸ˜‰

PS And if you want more sophisticated balls with Number : use the very tricky

I have replaced the file on the previous post πŸ˜‰
Groups are now components so you can remplace them at the end by anything you want πŸ˜„
Yes you must install SketchyPhysics else nothing will arrive πŸ˜‰

I was afraid of that. I've only got 1400 Plugins that could be the problem. Should be no problem going through all of them. πŸ˜’
