that teaser looks spectacular indeed, Fredo6.
how is it working, are you auto-subdividing the objects? could be quite difficult with complex objects.Yeah, looks amazing Fredo6! I would very very interested to hear the method you are using.

Dang!
Dear Fredo,
you will recive the bill of my parodontal surgeon for the jaw operation. -

The reason I asked is that, although Bending is definitely not part of the native Sketchup transformation and can give interesting results, I am curious to know if it could be useful in a 'practical' 3D design life.
I have been doing 3D design work for many years and can say with absolute certainty that bending is useful in 'practical' 3D design.
I would give my left leg (need my left arm for 3D design work ) for an SU bending script! I am really looking forward to whatever you may come up with! You're the best!

I design high end custom signage all day long. The most tedious part of designing in sketchup for me is the inability to "bend" text onto a curved surface. For now I have to go through many steps to get the text to appear to wrap the surface. If my client needs a change then it just takes me even long because I have to start over.
This script of yours would be way up there on my list of the most valuable scripts in my arsenal.
Looking forward to making my life easier.
Thanks.

There are some operations I can think of that cannot be done (at least easily, when not impossible) without using this Ruby.
The first is a bent text (text put on a path) as shown in earlier posts in this thread.
Those letters can be many different things... very promising.
Another possibly new operation is bending entities whose section profiles change along their lengths.
The Ruby can be used as lofting tool or sweep tool. Now we can make curvy legs of certain tables very easily. In any case, good control on how bending take place is the key. Cannot wait to try it.

Youve gone and gotten us all excited fredo no pressure now...

Although a galager script would be a lot of fun - smashing things into a zillion pieces. not a bad idea.....
