Apparently it's not that flimsy. The originals have lasted more than 70 years. The seat slats are 1-1/8 in thick and have a 1 x 1-1/2 stretcher running the length underneath.

Nice, Dave. A very functional and practical design with an appropriately rustic sensibility.

Thanks Liam. I wonder if there ever was a four legged version back in the old days. Not only would it have been unstable on an uneven floor which would make getting consistent results difficult, a fourth leg would have just been more work and made the wheel more costly. Aaron did a model of a different wheel in his live stream yesterday. I decided I'd have a go at it myself. A few parts left but it's close. [image: 49000551778_1fc6423e93_w.jpg] A close up of the flyer and bobbin assembly. Still needs hooks on the flyer. [image: 49001299282_b927ac33cf_w.jpg]

Liam, I found some nice cherry "boards" about 9-1/2 feet long which I decided to use on the desk. [image: 48910088193_285b294b59.jpg]

As all my scribes are into walls or floors they do not really impact my model (they are really never seen) and I also try never to model anything out of context. I think my stuff should be drawn the way it is built. The section cut will tell the story and words are not needed. Really do not even need dashed lines. Your example is very different. All through tenons need scribe added. Having that information in the materials list is a good place and then the model will look as it should when finished. A detail of the joint may be all that is needed. Thanks for helping me think this through.

Right now I am starting to play with Fusion 360 as it it free and seems to like I might not out grow it to fast. I will also look closer at VCarve. Trying to keep the costs down to make sure this is a road I want to go down. We have a large commercial CNC at work and use AlphaCam (might be getting a 5 axis soon!) but putting small stuff on it is a bit of a pain and getting time on the it is lately impossible.

Thanks, HornOxx, for your eagle eye. I somehow let the rear leg caps dip a fraction of an inch below the ground plane.
