I tried multiple times to get them to get rid of the Google name. They did in some places. Part of the idea of updating the basics is to get rid of it once and for all.

The only work around that I know of would be to make the texture in an image editor or use an actual image of plywood and import one of those as a texture.

Unfortunately bug fixes in an older version are incredibly unlikely after a newer version is released. At this point, about 6 months beyond the release of SU2018, it's safe to say there won't be any updates to SU2017.

I suggest contacting SketchUp support and getting them to help sort things out. You should be able to download SketchUp Make 2017, but the old Pro license may be the problem.

The piece is 30 in. wide, 32-1/2 in. high, and 18 in. deep. And, yes, sugar chests were once common, when people bought the stuff in bulk.

A while back I came across plans for furniture that was designed for various state parks in Texas. Each park got it's own style of buildings and furniture to go in them. There were plans for beds to go into cabins that were designed to keep the snakes out.

A couple of bits of advice for you:

Make sure that you don't create modified scenes when adjusting viewports. That is, you never want to see a scene listed in the SketchUp Model window in LO showing modified. Remember that you can crop the view in the viewport to limit what is shown. For example, the halves of the head and footboard for the bed in the first image are cropped in LO. The scenes in SU show the entire assembly. You can use the same scene for multiple viewports. This will allow you to reduce the number of scenes you create. For example if you want to show a closeup detail of the mortises on the top of a table leg, you can use the same scene that shows the entire leg. Just change the scale for the detail view. No need to make a scene for each of them.

I've been playing with the clock on the table. Decided I like the black clock better than the ivory colored one so I changed the top on the table. I've also been playing with a KT version but I'm not totally happy with it yet.
