SubD and Vertex Tools were on sale today from SketchUcation. I bought both and will probably use them for the tufting. If I can learn how to use these plugins, that is. Stay tuned.

[image: HdCA_adjustablestool.png]Yes, Frenchy, the original stool is even older than I am. BTW, I did reshape the legs yesterday, so they're closer to the original. And I couldn't have done the model without two cool plugins: True Bend (for the backrest) and Fredo6's Radial Bending (for the seat). dh

Dave H, thank you also for the suggestions. I need to spend a little time with the model to incorporate some of the changes and see how the big boss likes it. Thanks again for your input. Glenn

I have decided on finishing my sketchup models and meeting with a silversmith. Need to get a feel for the costs involved to see if this will go forward. I am also going to get a quote on casting them in stainless. If it is not outrageously costly then to then bench and then back to sketchup. Might 3d scan what I carve to get what I want into the computer. Lots to sort out to make this happen. As for the wood not decided yet but the construction of the handles I am going to make 2 halves to go over the tang. The tang will be almost the full length of the wood then glue it all together with no rivets. I have done this with knives and like the results. As for this batch, if it goes ahead I will be rough carving the handles on a CNC. Thanks Jeff

I agree with you and I have sat in some comfortable classic Adirondack chairs in my time. My favorite place to sit in them was at the Naniboujou Lodge overlooking Lake Superior. They have a different style that I should model someday.

Wolfarelli, I'm sorry, but ink-on-paper is the only version of the book. No digital version, I'm afraid. Best, dh

[image: Ah55_ScreenShot2018-08-16at9.23.24AMcopy.png] Making progress. Actually, I had to start from scratch because I hadn't scaled the first image of the working drawing properly. It was way easier to start fresh than to try to fix the first model. I'm glad I did, because I like the appearance of the new arm/backrest better. I'm hopeful that the front and rear stretchers and the seat will be easy to add. Enjoy. dh

Thank you, gentlemen. The textures are hand drawn and the edge style is called Pencil Speed and comes from the SUC Pencil Styles from the Shop. FWIW, you can at least see a photo of the real thing here.

Thanks, gentlemen. I suppose I could look for a glow-in-the-dark texture to make the table Mme. Curie's.

Interesting. So they don't go back quite as far as I thought. Thanks for doing the research.
