Nice image. Only a little thing: the bridge is floating. In semiacoustic guitars, this kind of bridge has to be fixed to the bottom of the body.

The other day I found a comparison done by some university students between Vray for Sketchup and Artlantis. I can tell you there was no noticeable difference between them. I wasted 6 months of my life in vray, so I would recommend Artlantis anytime. Call me shallow, but I prefer a good graphic interface, an on the spot light control and live preview with materials, from a spotless render that can take hours of fiddling with small number and senseless parameter handling, to create... I'm an architect and I want immediate good results for my presentations and the package Sketchup+Artlantis delivers those results just fine. If only artlantis had a better bump control and displacement... P.S. Great job there! where did you get those 3d people they look great (although the girl IS on the edge of her sit...)

@earthmover said: Getting metals to pop in hypershot depends on the HDRI image. Try using one from the Dosch chrome series for a studio type shot, or get more creative and use a HDRI from an exterior scene to add realism. Here's a model of Bumblebee that I rendered in Hypershot a while back. You can get an idea of how the metals react to the HDRI in the scene. Thanks for your advice~~

Some PP here just for DOF. Two dof maps exported from SU. I had to simulate a macro style photo. An apple model too, (for PC lovers lol), a blender UV mappning at its best. Have fun. [image: hfIb_20091011171718_2m4s.jpg] apple.skp

Thanks! I didn't know about the mask render in kerky but I will give that a try. (what do you think of the modeling by the way? Bridge concepts always seem to be white now) Updated: I tried the mask render in kerky and it gave a pretty good mask that I could use in photoshop to "cutout" my bridge and place it into a background photo. I will try the match photo in sketchup and then rendering in kerky. If that makes sense. I would still be interested in web tutorials that show examples of adding models to real images. I am very new at making models and photos mix.(for shading help, making it look real, etc) Update 2: Just a quick render and photomatch for the bridge shown above. I need shading, scale, etc and the angle might not be correct but I think I am on the right track.. Thanks for the help! s [image: U6eE_crossbow1.jpg]

A fine render Ross. These soft shadows are too soft though IMO. @sepo said: Sorry to hear that mate...seems life imitate art or is it viceversa? In this case, life imitates art I think. But the question is about art and reason, I'm afraid. There are some thousands of books about this... Because talking about reason is the same as talking about reason's limits. We can't say the same for our feelings. (Bertrand Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein have to say something about this).

K to the N, I would get it on with that Jack action. Keep the Grays away, keep the meat puppets from raining down on our little blue planet. I think this is kind of a "king giant" kind of a killer spider deal. Would this fit in my shoe, or is that a big garage door? I would have my way with either. Though thoughts of a small machine gun toting Jack bird spider blaster is hot. D the FH
