Nice, but there appear to be an awful lot of normals facing the wrong way.

Sorry, should've included that in the original post... It's all modelled in sketchup (except foliage & car) and rendered in Vray for 3DS Max. Lighting on the daytime one is VRay sun & sky, lighting on the dusk one is HDRI + IES lights on the exterior & Vray Spherical lights internally.

Lovely light. Cool images. (not a renderer myself--only thing about the artificial lighting on the walls makes the downstairs ceiling look disconnected) @unknownuser said: After those steps, why put a railing on the second floor? Stairs like this are great in modern houses and appropriate for a fun render, but they always make me smile. You can see rail-less stairs in books by great architects. But such things make everyone else look totally unimaginative to the clients. In most places you'd have a busy rail everywhere and you'd not be allowed the cool miter step at all. Still, it looks great!

@pixero said: @taylor64 said: I wonder, reading your post, if you ever tried to import the doors or moving objects separately? You could move the part in question to the origin assuming the pivot point, then export to .FBX move it to where you want it to be in the scene. Just an idea .... I haven't tried writing scripts for moving doors yet. Do you have any knowledge you could share on the subject? Thanks I've thought about it but not done it yet. I've tried it and it works, saves me from having to add another step and having to use yet another app. When you have a component in your drawing, "save it as" which will create a new drawing of that component, adjust the origin in the new drawing to where you want your pivot to be , and export it to unity from the same. Just wonder if any of you Guys have experience in writing scripts (Unity) to make e.g. the door rotate or a drawer to slide in and out?

@magpie said: Any tips on setting up your improv. render farm? is it easy? I just grabbed all the old computers the office discarded when they upgrade the workstations. I currently have 11 old P4 computers. Not very efficient in terms of CPU power and power consumption compared to modern computers... @magpie said: sorry... reviewing your images and yes they Do have a bit of shadow I've flooded the interior with lights so there is no strong shadows. I guess it's been in fear to too dark areas, but I suppose that the renders would have benefited from some lighter and darker areas in order to provide better contrast and dynamic in the images. As well as more details to indicate that people actually used the place.

I'd increase the segments on the curve of the pendant lights so they appear smoother. Also, the hands on teh clock appear painted on - no shadows as in the original.

Thanks Alexander, Yes the models are from Formfonts, most of the time per image is used in placement of entourage and populating the scene... I always want to add more to the scene but because of the limitation of SU to handle large components I stop before it crash.. Thanks again guys and hopefully more images to come.... allanx

@unknownuser said: whow. I looked up the price on that one... less is more. much more than I can afford... That is why there was no lens. Parka could not afford it.
