This is my first post here. I'm not yet a SU user but I'm building a system that I intend to use for SU: ASUS A8V Deluxe (non-PCI) Athlon X2 4200+ 2GB DDR400 WinXP As for my graphics card, I'm limited to AGP. I'm between the HIS X1950 Pro (512MB) and the XFX 7900 GS (256MB). I can't seem to find a 512MB version of the 7900 GS. Both cards are roughly $150 with rebates. There aren't but a handful of AGP cards more powerful than these two, for example, the 7950 GT. I read today that NVidia has developed a AGP/PCI bridge for the GeForce 8 series and that an AGP version of the 8600 is just around the corner Back to reality... I'm thinking I should go with the X1950 PRO simply because it has 512MB. But I read elsewhere here that Nvidia based cards are best for SU. Perhaps this is no longer the case?? Advice would be appreciated. David [ginahoy]

I have ATI Radeon X550 - quite an old (bought it 2 years ago) and not very powerful piece but I get along with SU. Yet I heard Nvidia cards are better. There is a thread about this in the Pro forum (why there, BTW - I am moving it right here).

It is a dedicated graphics card. It is handling SU fine although I have not put it through it's paces yet. What I will do is test it some more later and report back.

Thanks. The University of Tennessee diploma is a big-ass piece of paper! Hopefully, soon I will have an architect's license to add to them.

Mike Thanks for this. Our house is victorian and has no concrete floor slabs, when you lift a floor board you see an air gap below he joists and then earth. It has never posed a problem but ideally I want to lay a damp proof membrane and lay a concrete slab over the top. I was dreading the thought of ripping up all the floors though, so I've been looking for a self levelling concrete product with chemical damp protection. That way I won't have to lift all the floor boards. I'm not sure if Hypercrete is self levelling but it is a step in the right direction.

The only advantage I see over a motorcycle is that you don't have to put your feet down when you stop. And it looks real cool?

Hmm- I wonder if this "seed" of an idea has been done before? The grip would, of course, be tiltable to some degree, with option to lock angle or maybe adjust friction for tilt. Obviously, I've spent less than 15 minutes- just a fun thing using my friendly little Evernote utility. [image: Mousgrip.jpg]

Bob, Aha! Thanks for unravelling that mystery - that website is a perfect example of a great idea badly executed. First of all the index is tiny, repetitive and very dull to hunt through, then you have to fill your shopping basket, go to your email account, save the attachment zip file, extract the zipe file, then go into each file's folder to get to the actual skp component.... and then they're almost uselessly high poly! Many 3D download sites are moving towards drag and drop files into SU for crying out loud! Still, I got a couple of nice accurate WCs which I'll remodel to about 1/10th of the poly number. Thanks for explaining that to me,
