Well, maybe it was for technical reasons or whatever. Maybe they will give it another go. The software certainly looked interesting.

No it does not. Has Shift, control, alt and escape. But no default space bar. If you are using the keyboard for left and then hitting the space is normal. I dont want to be removing my hand from the 3D navigation device to use keyboard all the time. Defeats the purpose

There are plenty of Topics created for this, search for graphic card and read what it suits you. One of them http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15%26amp;t=21942 . As I said, if you are just using your computer for Sketchup modeling and not doing renders with some other GPU based programs it would not be necessary to upgrade your card(unless you have money to freely do so).

Avoid at all costs, i bought something similar about 2 yrs ago, complete waste of time, and money. the rez is so low its virtually impossible to model in SU, after about 5 mins these things generate so much heat you will need sunblock to protect your nose. causes headaches and discomfort, maybe its due to the lens been so close to your eyes, im not sure. Im sure about 1 thing tho, if i sit to think more about how bad these things are id have a list the length of my arm, don't waste your time or money with this thing, don't even think about it, if you do you will set yourself up for a huge disappointment. If i where you id wait for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, i have the dev kit but still not suitable for SU use but i can see it getting to the stage in the not so distant future, i wrote about it here http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=72%26amp;t=51973 in my opinion its far better than that device you displayed.

Hi guys thanks for the welcome. I use twilight render but this also brings up other questions I don't see twilight being advertised anymore as much as let's say indigo or v-Ray. What do you use? As for software the sketchup site has a requirements page so it's probably good to meet them or go above and beyond. I plan on doing high quality rendering for landscape design ( residential) and possibly some animations.

We just finished a solar array for a customer. He had bought a Tesla model S car and wanted it to charge the car. After he made change after change it ended up being big enough to power his whole house! It is pointed south lol.

Thanks for giving me another goal in life Solo. That machine you described will most likely be my personal beast one day. I'm not sure what their budget is but I do know they already purchased the work station machines which are most likely IMacs. Don't think the budget will allow the beast but I will bring it up anyway....who knows right? It doesn't have to be such a beast right now. I think they would rather stay under $1000,00. As long as I can get some decent renders on a machine away from my work station. btw, is there a link to a thread with the Thea beta guy with this "beast"? I would love to check it out.

A bit late to the party i know, but i just wanted to put a vote in for my corsair M95 as the ultimate pointing device. http://www.corsair.com/en/gaming-peripherals/gaming-mice/vengeance-m95-performance-mmo-and-rts-laser-gaming-mouse-gunmetal-black.html With 15 assignable buttons at my fingertips, this thing has increased my workflow a lot. It's very well built with an aluminium chassis, tons of thumb buttons (which i like, and find very easy to reach), has a chunky scroll wheel (with just one click - i've had Logitechs in the past where the thumb wheel clicks side to side, making the central click harder to get). It's not wireless, which i like since the signal never drops out and i never have to worry about battery life, but has a long and nice quality braided usb cord. The only downside is that it has no native mac support, and neither usb overdrive nor steermouse will give it full functionality (didn't have any joy with controller mate, but tbh i didn't really fully fathom out the software). Luckily the device has onboard memory, so i was able to program it with single key or key combinations from my wife's pc, and it all worked great on my mac. Obviously i can't profile for different applications, but i've been able to get the functionality i need in SU, LO, Draftsight and Chrome by adjusting the shortcuts in the software to suit.

Hi Mike, I've been thinking about using Air display like this for a while. Unfortunately i don't have a tablet so i can't test it for myself, but i was wondering what opportunity there is to take advantage of the touchscreen functionality. With my 13" MBP i quickly run out of space for toolbars and trays, and i've been wondering if i could park them all on a tablet, and select tools, control layers, scenes and styles etc by touching the screen. If i knew for sure that this was possible i'd probably go out and buy a tablet tomorrow. Have you tried anything like it with your set up? Is there a reason why it wouldn't work?

Anyone tried Mavericks ? I have someone telling me that web-dialog callbacks are busted when they installed it ... For example, how is the SCF Plugin Store working for you with it ?? Downloading OK ? It might somehow be incompatible with v8/v2013 ? I'd appreciate feedback before jumping in at the deep-end...
