I wanted to model a stadium again, so I first made a model.
It's just fast-done so I see if the realization is even possible.
But now I'd like some suggestions from you, I still don't know how to model the 2 "towers". They look a bit too much like boring watertanks. Of course every critic is welcome. (This is just a concept model, I know the hull of the stadium isn't perfect)
Btw. Please don't mind the small comment at the pictures, they just say top- and sideview
Nice cars, but in times of the climate crisis you should better modell a Prius.

This is my first Post, so I hope you like it. I just saw some of these great optical illusions and thought "Why not model that in SU?"
So now here is the first one, 10 Min. Work.
Btw... Finding the right colors was the hardest part.
And if you want to know how I did it:
I hope you can understand why shadows or rendering might have been a bit hard. 
Others are coming soon maybe.

I would use a bigger (more x more) texture and expand it more, so you have no more cuts in your water surface.
And I would use a single Background area. The edge doesnt look realistic.
The boat itself is nice.
This is great! 
What comes next? Asterix? Idefix? Miraculix? Or maybe Caesar?
Ah, thanks, I found the Problem now. I've just set black and not the sketchUp Background color.
Im rendering for 4 min now and It works perfectly.
Ill see how long I will net it render.
It should be possible to continue modelling the model I'm rendering while the renderer is still rendering? Erm... I hope you know what I mean.
Edit: One more quiestion:
It is possible to let an object glow in an other color like red?
I was also trying a lavalamp and wanted to have red bubbles.

The should be a photo in the picture frame and the folder should be colored.
How did the color disappear?
The Tutorial didn't tell me to set it to black.

tutorial, but at "Materials 1" it says right-click and then "100W Incandescent". Thats not in the list, so I go to the Edit button and there I press "assign present" and then "100W Incandescent". But then it says I should press "OK", but there is no OK-Button.
When I try to preview, there is an error: "Blackbody lights are currently not supported by this feature"
and there is no Image, just the red cross on a white ground.

I don't know how I got to SU but I love it.
But I still don't want to pay 450 $ for it.
I'm using Maxwell Render at the moment (ofc the free version ) but then I
found the website of LuxRender and read that the software is free 
I looked at some of the renders, some of them were very realistic, too. (Not as good as Maxwell full version, but wayne)
And when I render with the free version of maxwell there is always that big watermark and (I don't know if I did something wrong) the colours were not as good as in the picture I saw at the Maxwell website.
So Im thinking of using LuxRender.
Is anyone using LR and could tell me if it's a good rendering engine?

Wow, it takes hours until all the Buildings appear
So, I also own a laptop because of my job.
I will install MaxwellRender and SketchUp Pro Demo on the laptop or the compter, don't know for sure. I can continue modelling with the free SketchUp, transfer the file to the other computer, then export it and transfer it back, because I already have Maxwell on one computer. Then I can continue working.
Seems to work.

I think I'll keep modelling in the free SketchUp version and use the demo just for exporting.
First of all, thank you for the help, but before I download it, 2 questions:
Is it possible to transfer a Model from the free Google SketchUp to the SketchUp Pro demo?
And can the Demo be used endless or just a certain time?
They say "With our Demoversions of SketchUp and MaxwellRender and this tutorial..." it should work.
In the Tool bar are only these Icons:
"set maxwell Camera Parameters"
"set maxwell Environment Parameters"
"set maxwell Object Parameters"
"set maxwell HDRI Parameters"
"Enable/Disable maxwell Material Panel"
The Exporter is named "MaxwellExport 2.1 b"
