@twdant said: .........I keep having an issue where only the innermost plane will actually cut, the others make lines on the geometry where the cuts should be, but don't actually cut and hide the material on the opposite side of the plane. It seems like this might be a bug because the material that should be hidden is not clickable. I've attached a screen dump picture for reference....... I can't make anything of the uploaded file. But in general, see if you have mirrored groups or components with section planes inside. They won't work like they are supposed to, this is a bug. Top level or nested, doesn't matter. It's that section planes just do not work properly inside the grouped environment. The wrong side is visible but not selectable while when being in editing context all seems to be correct. See if this applies to your situation.

pcmoor, it's a little clunky, but it works. I'm trying to implement a drag and drop parent component, so I have to drag the wrapped child component into the open parent component, and explode the wrapper on the child and it works. Is this a bug or are the DC's designed to overwrite formulas?

Maybe, but there are other components that apply the same attributes based on different inputs that aren't creating unique instances. I would think both would be affected if an attribute was the cause.

Wrong answer : value1==value2 will return TRUE or FALSE Correction : this was for ruby, not for dynamic components

You will need to use a component with 2 child components - one for the board and the other a small triangle at the end of the board to control the angle. I thought we had some examples posted but I can't seem to find one at the moment. [image: GOVt_2014-05_08.png]

Absolutely. That problem is fixed and I've moved on to another problem with a different component. If you get a chance, take a look at my "Help close the gap" thread. I'd sure appreciate any help you might be able to offer.

I always like to be sure people remember "Group and delete" in clean-up of intersections. You should be able to knock out the deletion in one pass. Another thought is --I've been working on creating standard wall sections with windows already in them, that are designed to be joined or fitted to adjacent wall areas. If you are doing metal buildings this might be another approach, you could include the window opening framing as well in such a component. Actually most useful if you have a complex wall surface. Another thought- make a plane of the wall- with openings after mounting windows in a flat surface. Use 1001 bit tools for the paneling. I do this for battens.
