Thanks David. Your correct the doors operate like a roll top desk. Only difference is they slide horizontal, operation and construction is basically the same. Surprisingly enough on the original pieces the doors slid real easy. They were pretty high quality stuff, solid teak. Wish I had them now. Chuck.

Dave, Thanks, I get the other stuff to do. Sometimes doesn't seem like there's enough hours does it ? Took the raw render into Gimp and ran the "Colorize" tool, played with the settings a little in there. Then tweaked Hue & Saturation levels a little. Chuck.

solo, I guess I can post the model for a fellow "exile in texas". texture job was the best I could do with thru paint. model was meant to replicate a fiberglass taxidermy mount. have fun with it. Only fooled around for 15-20 mins to get the image I posted. Going to try and play with it some more. Lets see what somebody who's REALLY good can do. bonefish1.skp

Dave your so right about the pricing. Pieces that were more mass market still can be found at reasonable prices but if it's by one of the top manufacturers with attributes to one of the top designers of the era your wallet will take a beating.

DavidH , many thanks. Pilou , Yes it's typical of 50's - 60's mid century modern style. Not a copy of one particular chair. combined elements of the arm from two different chairs I've seen.

Thanks Dave. Yeah those are some pretty nice styles , not surprised you use them too ! I think Sketcher is similar to Fotosketcher. Use it because they have a mac version, Fotosketcher doesn't. Forgot to mention the grain in the wood is mostly from the texture. It's out of Rich's npr woodgrain pac and the seat cushion texture is from Rich's npr fabric pac. Thanks Rich !

Daniel, Agree with your comments about the textures. Still struggling with the u.v. mapping stuff. Thankfully all presentations are n.p.r. and I don't have to hit 100% accuracy in the textures. The assets are mainly about working out relationships in space. Also timelines can be tight. As for organics out of you league, I've seen enough of your posted models, you do excellent work. If you needed to do the organic stuff I'm sure you would figure it out.

Organics are hard for most people. I'm still learning how to make decent curves just on machines. I could not hope to achieve this yet. Good work!

John, I really appriciate you taking the time to help me out. I'll take your advice to create a material folder inside the "old color" folder in user/library path. thanks, chuck. P.S. - Rich, Thanks again for your input also. you helped me learn some more about checking under the hood and that's always a good thing!

Gentlemen, Thanks for the input, was kind of hoping there was a rule of thumb kind of like tipping after a good meal.. Now I just have to figure out how to navigate a foreign pay-pal site… A shout out to Solo, just the kind of dry humor I'd expect from somebody from dallas… bye the way checked out your web site, some pretty impressive stuff. chuck.
