RE: Problem: texture dont show
A better than KT + free?... and then?
You should read some thread in KT forum, you'll find a lot of similar cases , but it seems you've a reversed face problem, better you could post some image in order someone helps you.

NO!! Majid, please you don't drink red wine from a mug surely????
NO PLEASE! ... ehi wait.. that's not wine it seems better a forest fruit tea
seriously, Majid you could improve the wine material, there's one good (from Alex, I believe) in KT libraries.
Great work that mug with the seams -
RE: First Start : My Bedroom Wall
you fake, Dspace ... beautyful bed clothes, and lighting of course. again Warhol, you really like him. what about a green jade buddah?

RE: My latest render
Hi Ian, nice scene wich render engine?
In term of realism some areas look fake, I think beacuse of your choice of lighting is really hard. Also the wooden floor needs an improvement. finaly the background, I believe in a so strong backlit shot the trees should look just like shadows.

RE: Delete a material that's being used (using Ruby)
@thomthom said:
there isn't any mathods to delete materials. the workaround is to create temprary geoemtry and apply all others materials to it, then purge materials. But you must also make sure that the material you want to purge isn't the current one.
maybe i'm misunderstanding, but although I don't have any dedicated ruby-script, by right click on the material I can delete and replace with the default one

RE: Underground gallery
Hi Vizfellas,
I think the main problem here is you've took a photo although is forbidden.
nice scene really original (I hope that wet on the ground is water! )
seriously, perhaps could be interesting add some lights from the side hallway to break the soft tones -
RE: Render this: NPR Lighthouse
it seems none wants leave this thread without his own contribute..
@Massimo: hai senz'altro battuto tutti in originalitΓ ! -
RE: Crowbar
with a LOOOT of patience modeling the curves, you can try with Chris Fullmer's simple loft plugin
-
RE: Render this: NPR Lighthouse
@dspace! someone has put even the moon, mine are just a few bulbs
it's not my beautyfull cotton , just a white diffuse with bumps and reflection, unexpectedly good! -
RE: How can move some elements without move beside unselect ele
depending what you have to do... select > ctrl+x > ctrl+v fast, simply and powerful
-
RE: Roller coaster
Hi Jordan, i think you can do with sketchy phisics, depending of the level of details you want, complexity of the model and so on , surely it's a hard work!

RE: I invite you to an orange juice!
this was a test with your model, apart the ice and juice bad materials ( what a troubles!) you can see the refraction between glass and liquid is not very realistic because lacks a surface that 'closes' the glass volume. also the flat edge looks not much pretty
-
RE: I invite you to an orange juice!
I'm not sure it's the same for others rendering engines, my little experience is about kerkythea. all the objects, divided by material, must have the front faces looking out, this means that looking into the empty glass you won't see any blueish face, it's a common beginners error. after that, you merged the orange juice with the glass, both materials have a common surface, this gets you faking refractions. there was also the ice material applied to the upper edge of the glass... all little things that in SU or in a wide scene you don't notice, if you made it for a pool model surely it runs well without loading the model with useless elements

RE: Sketchup grid size - then render
thanks for the tip, not dumb at all.. actually is the first thing the getting started tutorial says but I never check it, and I think many others do the same, then we get all troubles with resizing textures
-
RE: I invite you to an orange juice!
I tried a close view but there are a lot of oddities in the model, like reversed face and interferences... so I modeled new from scratch, a good test for material development.
