Chris...I assume it's showing every monitor ever plugged in: the one when it was built, the window's driver one when I plugged it in at home, then the samsung driver install, evidentally the aliens had two plugged in when they beamed it aboard to f... it up, then the one when I took it to the guys across the street. Julian...ME TOO! It does have it's moments: when installing programs I get the mental image of the Enterprise going into warp...autocad was completely loaded in the time it took to go into the next room and close a window ( :`) Yesterday I did a test (when it was running normally)...opened a 40meg file in PSP and duplicated a couple of layers, opened a 4meg file in SU6, back to PSP hit save (the slowest thing this 'chine does...slower than my 1.6gig Pentium M with its turtle HD for some reason?), then in SU started doing mouse middle button orbits: no hitch in it's get-along and neither processor got max-ed. So the machine can indeed multitask quite nicely like it's supposed to...why would he tell me XP couldn't do that well? Anyway, I'm starting another thread listing all my specific problems hoping to get some smarts before I take it back in...hope something dawns on someone! I will surely need some ammo to get them to start down the path of switching out hardware components.

Tom, I prefer the last two images from the first set. They remind me in colour and style of detailed hand drawn interior perspective watercolour techniques that existed before computers came. The bottom two of the last bunch seem kind of over done with the brush strokes going in all directions. I think it would be better to get rid of them. They seem to distract and take away all the attention from the fine detail in the background. By further postprocessing this image in photoshop for example by using adjustment layers hue/saturation, curves etc. it is possible to further enhance your original image without going into dramatic measures of using artistic tools , brushes etc. How much is too much, a difficult question, and I suppose we will never have a general agreement on that one and that’s why we are here to help each other out . I am asking myself through my work every day this question and it is very difficult for one to judge his own work. Cheers, Mateo

Okay: I take it back...this didn't stop my troubles, just passed them on to another program (iexplore.exe NOT GOOD!). Though this is given many great reviews here and there, please forget "I" said anything. Sorry and best, Tom. I'm about to junk this little $1800 investment and get another Dell (as much as I hate too 8+(

I don't think Bush or anyone else in the administration deliberately went into Iraq to drive the price of oil up. Let's not forget about UN Resolution 1444 (I think that's the number). The price of oil is overwhelmingly driven by supply and demand variables. I think ALL of government is infected with moral hazard; from local to federal. This is a great term. Their lack of moral behavior creates a hazard for all of us. It's getting worse and the one thing that just really pisses me off is the lack of accountability. Vote Libertarian, I say.

Thanks again all...this kind of discussion helps a bunch with the learning curve! Eric, I'll only take credit for deciding not to fix it when I noticed the difference in the new brick...glad to hear a vote as the right decision. Mirjman, I think you may have the reason for the difference nailed; I was thinking it was the saturation of the SU brick material (which is hard to fix in PSP without screwing up the other model materials)...thanks for the tip! Thought the DWC needed work so here's another version: [image: imSg_tn_Image3too.jpg]

Tom, There is a phenomenon in northern Australia where rubber thongs [or as they are somtimes know,'flip-flops'] get washed up on the beaches. They are nearly always the same foot [cant remember which one]. The theory is, that because each [left and right] thong has a unique and different aerodynamic and aquadynamic shape it travels in a certain direction driven by the wind and currents. So the left foot thongs end up in Darwin..and the right foot thongs sail on to Fiji or somewhere else. So possibly all the left feet, in this instance, have landed on some deserted beach in Greenland....or are still bobbing along on the high seas.

It's not that serious but it's just a personal preference of mine, I think the yellow trees is taking all the attention away from the house which is I think is the focus of your illustration. What I see here is that your aiming on a more artistic style, is that right? gian

James, here's the link to Mike's thread (there is a "download" tab to most of their stuff): http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=8550&p=51783&hilit=+snap+art+#p51073 The demo is a full feature 30-day (60 if you have two computers :`) though it will take me much longer than that to explore all the neat filters...but it already looks like I'll know enough to spend the $150 before then!
