...going for a "just after the cloud-burst" effect: whadaya think? (Also threw in a couple of DWC's, a sketch and a finished, of the render...love the adds over straight SU exports!)

Jesse...be sure to have the png and the camera/model both facing front before making the face-me component (at least, forgetting this is when I get funny facing face-me's :`)

    • RE: Playing with DOF in Twilight...

I see your point...I was trying to better match the model to the out-of-focus background image but maybe should have gone the other way around :`)

    • Playing with DOF in Twilight...

...worked good, but maybe doing it in PSP is the way to go since I still had to do some desat in the background to make it look as it does: suggestions?

    • RE: Freelance price range?

Scott, count me onboard with Pete...especially in this economy!

Seriously (or rather: also :`) year before last I was getting $40 in the midwest and $50 on the coasts. Right now I'm still happy to take whatever I can get.

Lovely!...the blinds behind the glass reflection, and especially the shadows of the blinds on the interior wall, made me grin out-loud!

      Pretty nice!

About your building work: the only thing that jumps out at me is the eave and barge boards around the roof. They would/should be articulated a bit and most likely would not be covered with the roofing material...?

If you hover over an edge of the circle or arc for a moment, then move to the center, it will pick it.

    • RE: My First House Model in Sketchup

Hey Manoj, welcome...looks a lot like my first SketchUp effort: fun program, huh? Now it's time to learn some new things. How 'bout "push/pull" to give the roof structure some depth? Also, the "texture" command to adjust the brick to the actual size you want to use? Then...who knows but you?

Be sure to post the progress of your process!

    • RE: A couple of TwilightRender renders...Update 01-26

Thanks a bunch, Guys...really encouraging! I took several of your suggestions to heart (sorry it took me so long to get back to you: got some contract work, finally!, so a guaranteed paycheck's gotta come first :`) and hope you like?

bytor...yes, the mapping is off and I do intend to fix it. Will now also add some lobes to the trunk bases and rework some of the larger lower and exposed branches so they work as nicely in the near foreground as the leaf pngs do (which surprised and pleases me a bunch :`)
