I have the same issues with LO 2015 (and 2013 /2014). Located the folders, nothing in there. I'm on a Mac running Yosemite if that makes any difference.

      Deckchairs. That's what they are.

Over here in England it is that law that if you either a) live within 10 miles of the sea or b) have more than 6ft square of "lawn" you have to have at least one of these.

      I have 2...

As for getting out of them, it's an acquired skill, sort of a roll/push. πŸ˜„

Apologies for resurrecting a very old thread, but I have a similar problem, but on a Mac.
I've downloaded Landserf and it gives a very good representation of the landform I have downloaded as an .asc file, but I can't find a way to get it into Sketchup (or Artlantis, or Rhino...)
Does anyone have a workflow for this on a Mac?

    • RE: Texture in layout

yeah, also noticed that the file's a recovered one, so there might be some "oddness" to it. I've had a couple of files where I've built things up from imported .dwg polylines and they haven't behaved at all as they would have if I'd started form scratch in Sketchup

Looks like you're rendering it in pure Vector mode, to see textures you need to select "Raster" or "Hybrid"

    • RE: Selection of multiple endpoints

That's a great workaround, thanks! I haven't quite got my head around how to create it from scratch just yet, but it's been a heavy week and I'm about to clock off for the weekend. I'll take a look at it properly on Monday.

It definitely wasn't in SU, as I don't do that kind of thing with it. It was either Layout, or a hallucination πŸ˜•

    • Selection of multiple endpoints

Is it possible to select multiple points across more than one object, and move them all at the same time?
As an examle, I am making a user guide for a piece of furniture I've designed, and would like to move the bubble containing part No.8, and the gathered ends of all the lines which indicate where that part is to be fitted. Screen Shot 2013-12-06 at 11.40.12.pdf
This is simple in Indesign, using the direct selection tool to drag a marquee over the bubble, which picks up all the arrowed line endpoints etc. and I can then move them all at once.

I'm sure I did manage to do it once, completely by accident. I'd like to know if I was just dreaming or not, and if not, how to do it again!

    • RE: SketchUp and OSX Mavericks....

I have SU 2013 and use it with dual monitors. I have all my menus and info windows opened in the Left screen but now whenever I open SU, the main toolbar pops over to the RH edge of the main (RH) Screen. Anyone else experienced this?

    • RE: [Plugin] Proper Animation V1.08 Beta(Updated 14/11/10)

I'm having problems with tis plugin with SU2013.
I've set up a model, assigned 5 different positions, created 5 scenes. All OK.
When I start the scenes observer, select first tab and then "get position1" SU crashes. Every time.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to fix it, or is it something that others have experienced?

    • RE: Trouble modeling a cabinet door

The zip's fine, but the various scripts seem to be calling for things form a Windows file structure, i.e. C:xxx which don't exist in the Mac OS. I did have a look to see if I could re-configure them to point to the correct file locations, but it didn't work for some reason (probably because I'm doing it wrong!)

Any chance that the Door Maker plugin could be made to work with Mac OS please?

    • RE: Repeating holes

Probably a long way round, but can be done with no plugins...
      Start in 2D:
Make one circle, position in (for example) the top left corner, and duplicate it in the opposite corner, using the command "/x" to make as many copies as needed in the top row.
Then select this row and use the same method to create as many rows as desired.
Add the panel outline in the same plane.
Select the filled panel only (1 click), and copy it, deleting the rest of the construction lines etc.
Push/pull the resultant perforated surface to the desired thickness, et voila!

It sounds complicated, but it takes less time to do it than to explain it...

    • RE: Surfaces Won't Fill In

The problem you have is that many of the lines aren't perpendicular to each other, so any surfaces that do manage to get created aren't going to match up with any others.
If you zoom in to the model you'll also see that in some places there are many lines near, but not quite in line with each other.
If I were you I'd start again, and try to build one stage at a time, using components where possible. i.e. steps, rails etc.

When you say you've used "profiles" did you alter the settings at all? I usually have them set at "2" and it seems to work quite well.
