2 cups of tea with unsweetened soya milk
That's like ordering a double cheeseburger, large fries and a diet coke.
No it's not, because unsweetened soya milk only contains 0.5g of carbs in 100ml. Whereas milk is about 6g per 100ml
Usually when I order a double cheeseburger, I don't bother with the bread or the fries. But take the diet coke.
It works!
I heard yesterday that President Obama had likened to Gordon Brown! (ie has gone all silent on America).
But does a president have to be a showman? And why does it matter so much? Can Obama just be left
to get on with his job? I remember when Reagan (Raygun) got in for a second term. Some American republicans
were interviewed on why they were voting. One replied that they "liked his hair"!!
Is that a good basis to vote for someone?
We said that Labour were broken (which yes I suppose they were? But at least they were still spending money.
Okay not on important things (like R&D), but at least they were investing something). But who have we in power now? A coalition
government who got in by the 'skin of their teeth' ie such a low voting turnout- no one really cared. Now it's
cuts cuts cuts, and probably the highest unemployment figures for 17 years.
If you don't vote, the 'little man' will get in. Just like he almost did in France a few years back. Do you fancy the
idea of a bunch of Klansmen in office?
Heavens forbid!
There's nothing really wrong with the principle of capitalism, it's just this present capitalist model, the one we have
now which is wrong. But It's not going to be a revolution that will change that though, it will be debate- kind of like what we are
doing now.

It's not quite "no more porn". It just gives parents the option to allow these companies to withhold access to what they deem as 'inappropriate'.
You have to ask yourselves when it is 'appropriate' to allow others to think for you?
I am a parent of two young children and I won't be signing up for this. I believe in free speech and no censorship. Let people use reason and make up their own minds!

This is a very good counter-argument of what's really happening on Wall Street by Brendan O'Neill on Canadian Calgary-based radio station QR77

This is really worth a listen if you've got the time, because it highlights many of the contradictions within the events happening. It certainly made me think. (Interview starts at about 12.40).
Poor bugger;

Team,
Like many of you, I have experienced the saddest days of my lifetime and shed many tears during the past week. But Iโve found some comfort in the extraordinary number of tributes and condolences from people all over the world who were touched by Steve and his genius. And Iโve found comfort in both telling and listening to stories about Steve.
Although many of our hearts are still heavy, we are planning a celebration of his life for Apple employees to take time to remember the incredible things Steve achieved in his life and the many ways he made our world a better place. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at 10 a.m. in the outdoor amphitheater on the Infinite Loop campus. Weโll have more details on AppleWeb closer to the date, including arrangements for employees outside of Cupertino.
I look forward to seeing you there.
Tim
Tim Cook has sent out an internal email to Apple employees informing them of a celebration of Steve Jobsโ life...

A really good tribute here with an interview with Eric Schmidt, Google's chairman;
Worth a watch.
This is an image of a one dollar note apparently taken with the new iPhone 4S.

I think the expression rhymes with "clucking bell"?!

I'm from a Solidworks background. I've dropped Solidworks for Sketchup! I suppose that's quite a statement?!
I still rate Solidworks though- but at ยฃ6000 a seat, it's hardly value for money!

Yes, I just corrected myself.

Hate to start yet another Mac vs PC war,
I think you misspelled "Love"
Yes, you're quite right Jim!
I'll rephrase that....
I don't want to start another blah blah war but.....blah blah blah........!

It is a right pita about not being able to open multiple windows of SketchUp in Windows. Perhaps Google should introduce tabs for Windows users? (I also use, (and love) Windows 7!)
edit; Sorry, yes Chris is right. I swallow humble pie!
'Multiple windows' I meant to say. You can open multiple instances. It's just, from what I remember a little clunky- having all those SU icons in the dock.
Hate to start yet another Mac vs PC war, but on a Mac, you're rid of this little curse, as you can have as many windows open at the same time in SU! By pressing the "Command" and "`" keys sequentially, you can scroll through your open windows within the current selected application.
Very useful!

I've been feasting on bacon and 3 eggs for breakfast everyday
Heart attack waiting to happen mate.
I think not.
I'm now on 4 eggs for breakfast, 3 slices of bacon, sometimes 2 pure pork sausages cooked in dripping, butter or lard. Plenty of pepper.
Fried Mushrooms cooked with garlic and double cream on the side.
2 cups of tea with unsweetened soya milk
Coffee with double cream at 11.30 everyday.
I won't go on to what I have for lunch!
Daily intake of carbohydrate, about 15g.
I've lost loads of weight. My blood pressure has come down. According to my doctor (even if he can't believe it), I have a perfect cardio-vascular system!
All in all I feel f**king great! I hardly do any exercise, apart from occasionally cycling up to get my kids from school, and I'm travelling like a rocket! Still need my inhaler though- the diet hasn't cured my asthma. Oh well you can't win all the time!
Sorry for the OT.
Ha! A classic MS fail!

But here's a plug for an awesome mouse- a trackball made by Logitech (if you can manage with a trackball? Some folk dislike them though
). I got new one which is wireless and it's utterly brilliant imho. It's an M570.
