I use 169.25 with hard acceleration, fast feedback, 4x AA and I have no problems
it all depends on the codec used. try also uncompressed when exporting.
yeah, github is really a nice place for working on a project that is open source (you can have private projects as well).
I don't use it for SU Ruby scripts (use smustard.com for it) but I use for other projects and it is really nice.
there is also http://gist.github.com/ that you can use for snippets of code that are version controlled
I really like the UI. keep up the good work and let us know about the progress.

donno. i used 1x1 pixel to keep the file to minimum
make a hash of the file that you create via the script to see if it is written properly
here it works ... it creates an 82 bytes png, which I can drag and drop
in SU (using ALT to have it fill the face underneath the bucket)
as I said before - works only in Shaded mode, in Shaded with Textures I get a white face 
have you tried latest code (forgot to modify the text on the message as well) - for me it works in Sketchup as well.
weird as the material shows as color based, not as texture - but it works.
I used a an indexed because it is easier to change colors and have a base png to start of. using a rgb is much more harder and needs more code for it

are you sure ? the methods should be redefined. what is your code that are you are trying ?
it depends if it is a resistive or capacitive touchscreen - on resistive you must press harder to make a contact between the layers compared with capacitive where the body electrical charge is used to pinpoint the position.
a simple program that monitors the mouse position in a refined space (like SU window) can be used for rotation of the view and other buttons for scene loading, position, ...
it all depends of the hardware to make a custom solution that works
it depends on the kiosk that is used on - what hardware and software is available to be able to use it fully.
you can have, for example, rotate when you press and move left right (a la iPhone) or have specific scenes that can show an animation.

if you use too many keys than something is wrong with the design. try adding a UI (SU users are more visual), use multiple keyboard press (1st M press enter menu, 2nd M press move, ...)

never, ever use globals in Ruby - beside name clash conflicts (as Didier said) you will have a lot of problems debugging it when someone else (your script or other) changes and you don't know why. of course you can use trace variable and see the caller stack, but why shoot yourself in the foot ?
if they can make a single exe out of .skp and the runtime than it will be a good way to distribute your model via web or CD/DVD
