Is there a way to accurately get ground mesh say using Decimal Degree Coordinates?I'm trying to for flight simulator so I can try blending in runways in not so level areas.

Tried it again.Here is the photo of the lamp and tried the other template but it was cutting the top off for some reason after using the follow me.So maybe it's just too hard to get a perfect mach and detail in this situation that this is the outcome in this one too?

Project an image texture
I'm having trouble applying this lamp post/base image.I projected the image and tried other ways but cant figure out what I'm doing wrong.

(Might help other people with that same problem reading this thread.)build edge plan but I guess it's new and seems to be a nice plugin.I did double check using the same file and did it again.I have version 1.0 so far and I don't know if theirs an update yet.

Texture change bug splat
Hi I updated from 7 to Sketchup 8 not long ago and now I sometimes get a bug splat crash especially today I cant change a siding texture to another siding color/texture.I'm not sure yet if the size of the texture matters yet but a few brick textures would still work.Maybe theirs a fix for this I think it might be happening more often with large files too but I don't remember 7 doing this often.

What would be the best plug in to use for for example draping a towel over the back of a chair or a blanket hanging off the edge of a bed onto the floor?THX

Check outliner (window->outliner) to see your groups and components listed and see their hierarchy; what's inside of what, etc.
Give us the model or some piece of it and we'll know for sure, maybe.
Copy all and do an explode on a copy to drill down until you can pick the vent.
I did do an explode but still didn't know the way to combine the lid and the hole vents together.I was able to choose the vent but separate from everything else.I did find a way but maybe not the best way. I highlighted the vent,copied it,then went into the lid highlighted then pasted the new vent and delighted the original first one.From there I was able to make it all a component.THX

Moving componets together
I finished a barbeque with several parts involved but cant move a part that goes along with the top cover to hang it on the side of the barbeque.I cant seem to group it with the cover and it always stays separate whatever I try.
