I dimension an object in SU 2015 and sometimes, when zooming out or moving to another part of the model, the dimensions have moved off the object, though they are in the same relative position they were when they were placed.
This doesn't happen all the time but sometimes.

Hi,
Loaded SU 2014 and created saved template.
Setting for Camera =Perspective.
Open SU 2014 and all setting are saved except Camera-reverts to Parallel Projection.
Open a model that was saved with Perspective and the Camera reverts to Parallel Projection on re-opening.
Any ideas on how to correct this?

Are the native text and lines in LO Raster or Vector?
When creating a document from scratch in Layout, not importing a SU file, there is no option to select Raster or Vector. Those options are grayed out.

Scene is not [modified].
Deleted scene in SU and section cut.
Re-created scene in SU and renamed.
Deleted viewport in LO.
Re-rendered in new viewport.
Same results.
Yikes.
The scene shows as "Shaded with Textures" and not modified.
It took close to 15 minutes to go from raster to hybrid.
Line wt 1 pts.-same result.
Why just one scene? In the same model a similar scene renders in 30 sec.

Line wt in sketchup inspector is .20, though I tried in .50 and same result.
Regarding reversed faces, I just didn't correct the orientation in SU before sending to LO.
As I said, it is only this particular scene that is giving me a problem. All the other scenes render perfectly in .20 line wt and that is what I always use and have done hundreds of scenes this way.Thanks.
The line weight profile is set to "1" in Shaded and Textures. No other boxes are checked.

Sometimes when switching to hybrid from raster, I get a washed out image.
It isn't universal across all my scenes, usually just one or two out of ten or so in a file, but doesn't happen in every file I render in LO.
I update my Styles and update the scene and save, but no luck.
It seems there is some corruption in the SU file scene
that this occurs in.
I'm using SU 2013 but it happened in earlier versions of SU/LO as well.
Attached is a screen capture of the raster and then hybrid output.
Any ideas other than using Raster which I don't want to do because the quality is much lower?
BTW, tried Vector and same result as Hybrid.

Thanks. I had the 'redefine thumbnail on save' option ticked.
The window size relative to the component size was the answer I needed.
When you resize your window, it tosses your toolbars around.
I copied the model I'm making a component off, opened another instance of SU with no toolbars,then resized the window to fit model-Voila!Thank you very much.

When creating a component, how do I maximize the size of the thumbnail in the component browser? My components are hard to see in the component browser.
I've tried placing the component on the axis,placed in parallel projection and the component takes all the available screen space,but my thumbnail is still only about half or less the available size.
I have some components that fill most of the available space that were created by Google in the component sampler, so I know it's possible!

Where should CPU and memory usage ideally be in using layout?
I'm a kitchen designer and do 3D renders in Hybrid mode with some color/textures. I will have 4- 5 scenes of a model from SU exported to LO. The typical model size is 5-40mb. Render speed is unpredictable from model to model in that size range, which makes it hard for me to do any analysis. I do time the renders per scene. Some scenes take longer to render than others. They will run in the 3-6 minute range on average sometimes as much as 10 min.
The time doesn't seem like much as I write this. Maybe instead of staring into space as I wait, I should be multi-tasking?
I'm running Win7, quadcore 2.66ghz, 4mb ram, a Nvidia GTX460,1 mb memory.
If I get an I7 at around 3.4ghz,8mb ram,Nvidia GT560 with 2mb memory will I see a significant decrease in render time in Layout? The new processor is 28% faster than my current one(by dividing 3.4 by 2.66). Can I expect a 28% decrease in render time or is this a too simplistic view?
In my case, is there a workflow I should be using to speed things up-or do I need an attitude adjustment and marvel at the speed at which things are getting done? The results are quite fabulous in layout compared to exporting out of SU as an image.

Thanks for responding. I'm a kitchen designer and a very experienced SU user. I use it 4-5 hrs a day for the last 5 years.
All that being said, it's working now, 6 hours later. Nothing has changed except the time. I have no idea what is different or what happened.
Do you think it could be operating system issue?
When this all began,I checked the copy/paste function in a Word doc and it was fine.
Anyway, thanks again for trying to help-whatever you did, it worked!
Paste and Paste in Place not working in SU8 or layout. In edit, I can copy, but the Paste and Paste in Place function is greyed out. Ctl+V doesn't work either. Using the Move tool+Ctl I can copy.
Any ideas?
