My first attempt at modelling a car. I did this months ago and never took it any further as I got annoyed with the mistakes I made along the way. Might have another bash now that my modelling has improved.

Very nice images - can I please ask how you achieved the semi transparent figures?
When I apply styles to my models the results are a bit hit and miss with the face me people I use.

i like this technique for interiors.
this took 10mins max.
good for showing clients furniture options.

3d visualisation for private client.

I got a bit carried away adding styles but any comments welcomed.

I've recently created a fly through of a cottage using section cuts to remove the roof and show cross sections where required. All was working well until I changed the style of the first scene. Now when I play the annimation the section cuts dont show. I've made sure they are active in the scene and updated the scenes but every time I hit play it just runs through with no section cuts.

Any ideas?

I think you are just looking to create an array. You can simply copy your log component in the normal way (select log then use move tool but press Ctrl to copy it) after you place copied log in correct location simply type x20 or x65 or x however many you want and press return.

I'm sure there are YouTube clips which may explain this better.

not too clued up on this sort of thing but I think this tells you.

you were right - although everything appeared fine sketch-up was painfully slow with no hardware acceleration.

it's my work computer so not sure what I can do to fix it.

guess i'll carry on with default style and just choose preferred style before I export images. would be nice to view styles in the model though.

Within my models all lines seem to dissapear when I apply a style.

Tho screenshots to explain. First is default - second is sketchy edges.

It's not just the edge style settings because the image export works perfectly.

I've been using sketch up for some time now especially for importing cad drawings and modeling up from them.
A friend just downloaded sketchup 7 and it seems the option to do this has been removed.
Is this to make people buy pro???
