I would like to have some tips......if possible.... 
I am trying to build the new Hyatt hotel in Abu dhabi (see the picture).
The shape is quite strange but, using Curviloft and the extrude tools by TIG, it is possible to create that.
I am thinking about the mesh in the surface... 
the external surface looks like done by different slices then there is a pattern-mesh of rhombus.
Is it possible to use Lattice maker?
and, if yes, how can I control that?

In my last attempts I see the ribs are really thick.....see the screenshot... 
basically I cannot have the same result of your first post in this topic..

It is a simple bunch of curves....could you explain how i can manage the segments with the bezier curves?

I am thinking that one way could be building the whole shape (using Curviloft or the extrude tools by TIG), then create several surfaces (for example big rectangles) in order to intersect those with the whole shape. Then using JPP it is possible to extrude the right parts.
I would like to use the Lattice extrude tools by TIG but it looks like difficult to manage in terms of frame.

I don't know how I could build something like you can see in the picture.
I think the best way is to build the profile and then use lattice plugin by TIG.
But.....I don't know if I can "control" the structure frame inside.
Any tips?

We don't need Extrude face by rails as soon we could get the same results in other ways.

Hi TIG, thank you for your tutorial.
I guess it is a problem of my Sketchup.
This a licensed version that I used at work.
I am saying that because i have tried to use a simple rectangle with 2 rails (I draw one and copied as 2 rail just to have the same number of segments and same features).
(see attached)
After I welded the edge of the rectangle if I try to use the Extrude By Rails sketchup quit the work.
I think I have to do the same splitting the edge of the rectangle or roof in different pieces.
Here it is!
basically it is roof design, you could find the profile of the roof and 2 rails.
The two rails don't touch the profile.
So I welded the whole profile, I welded the 2 rails but when I try to use the plugin everything crashes!
I have tried to split the profile in more parts, and it looks like working.

1: i create my face with all the edges welded
2. i select the profile as curve
3. i select the 2 rails
4. i select the melding-prfile curve

When i tried to import any dwg i got this note:
"This requires 'win32ole.so' to be in the Plugin folder!
