    • RE: [Plugin] OBJexporter v3.0 20130131

      I have never heard of the outliner tool. Thank you. Yes, I could, and have, exploded the entire model, before using this script to export it. I was trying to avoid doing it. Thank you for responding.

      I have been trying this exporter, and it works great, expect on components or groups that are mirrored or flipped. The normals are reversed. I have made sure that all the faces/normals are facing the correct way, before using this. They are. Any ideas?

    • RE: [Plugin] Save Copy As Previous Version

      Maybe this is new for 2015? But this code, will save as version 7, no confirmation needed. Just run in the ruby console...
      model = Sketchup.active_model
      status = model.save("", Sketchup::Model::VERSION_7)

    • RE: Dude... Did you know the updated Vue Exporter...

      I use tak2hata's obj exporter. It works way better than that stupid plugin I bought at Cornucopia.
      It even smooths out the curves.
      valerostudio, I use thomthom's cleanup script from here, works great also.
      Really reduces the file size for importing into Vue.

    • Obj Exporter

      I found a great Obj exporter last night.
      The site is in Japanese, but just download the su2objmtl2.zip file.
      The only file you need in the zip, is su2objmtl.rb

      My apologies if this is well known, but I hadn't seen this before, so I made my first post on here.
      I can verify that it works in Sketchup 7.1. It exports to an obj, with the textures.
      I tried it in Sketchup 8, but the textures were not exported.
      Thanks.

      Clicking on http://www.ifelse.info/City-Up.html now just brings up a generic page. πŸ˜’
      I was really looking forward to that plug-in. I just bought the Automatic Sketchup book.
      http://www.autosketchup.com there is a lot to learn.
