This is the concept project of reconstruction of a square. SketchUp and Thea helped us a lot to find the solution and present it.
It should be under construction this year. What do you think about the paving material?
The red clinker responds to brick buildings surrounding it, but expensive...
Adding fast impressions from down there.

RE: Variable plugin idea
Burkhard, thanks for the link. That's it in general...But!..except that in Driving dimensions you have all this dimensions sticked to geometry,
and one dimension for one geometry - it is not TEMPLATE, or STANDARD that is one for all geometry which I was thinking about.
For example roofs of 50 different houses. You only have to edit one variable X which is entered in simple SketchUp way by entering
X instead of number in dimension box while creating roofs.- You don't have a mess of dimensions around.
- You don't have to call new command, just type X instead of number.
- One variable to rule them all
.
- ...and of course it's free!

RE: Variable plugin idea
There is a big difference - this is global and integrated in usual workflow without the need of defining special components.

Variable plugin idea
Sorry for intruding cause I know nothing about writing plugins
, but have an idea about one.
Could it be doable to enter variable instead of number in a box in SU.
Software looks in a predefined table of variables, which is changeable.
For example I define roofs of a house with variable X, and later in a table I can edit the value of X,
and make quick changes of my roofs geometry...something like global parameter? -
RE: Career change?
@unknownuser said:
but my mother told me there's no money in that and that if I like drawing I should go to architecture that it's better...oh the irony
sounds familiar to me (except it was not mum)
It is the same in architecture as with aviation and everything else..
...I don't know where one could escape these days...maybe food production?

RE: A house - SketchUp and Thea
Yes I know, but no time for that
. Maybe later for experiment.

A house - SketchUp and Thea
This is Saurus studio design of a house in the existing context.
We are using Thea and SU as design tools. For now the workflow from SketchUp is not
so fluid, but are waiting for new SU2Thea plugin.
Suggestions are welcomed of course, both for design and render.
It is Thea output with post work in Gimp - adding vegetation and background, levels adjustment etc.

RE: 3DVia Shape 4.0 can Work Offline!
What's the use of it if we can not save the work on our hard disk? To enjoy in working for other?

RE: Some interior - IKEA style
Great renders. Textures, light...
Shadow in corners, edges... are defined by AO?...or is it in postpro?
