I also love your texture tests Pete. These really look nice. You need to put together a package that is for Podium, I'll be the first to purchase.

      Chris,

Here you have it! I placed that baby in a 24X18 frame and hung it up. I just finished my basement months ago, and your rendering has come in real handy for having something to hang up. I still need to hang more goods up. Thanks again.

I'm definitely throwing my hat in the ring. My boss said He'll pay if I get a golden ticket. Now that I have the clearance, with my luck I won't get one.

I was not able to attend in o5', so the thought of being able to go in 08' just makes me giddy!

As for suggestions, gee, I really don't know, I'm just exited for the opportunity.

Very nice Tina. That has a great feel to it. It's always fun to finish jobs the way you want them to be.

Golly gee, very nice comments. I see a lot talking about the sky and atmosphere. SO, I had nothing to do and made a video of me creating the sky. Now, I really just wanted to play with Camtasia. As for the video its hard to see exactly what I'm doing, so I'll explain. Simply 2 steps. First I place a gradient fill that is purple'ish and orange, then I selected a photograph of a sunset and set it to 50% opacity and placed it. Pretty simple.

      Here is the video

      Nick,

Piranesi is quite versatile in my opinion. I'm not the best for explaining the program, but I would recommend taking a few moments and watching some of the tutorial movies. Ones like "Whats new in Piranesi" and "Night Scene". These 2 show the lighting effects. I think that Piranesi has a lot of control and you can go either way with it, realistic of painterly.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's nice to know I can still use Piranesi a little. It wasn't until a week ago that I decided to use it on a couple pieces, this one and another that I'll show when the time comes.

    • A Return To Baseball

The client came back to have another rendering done reflecting some changes that had been made to their plan and this is the result. This may look familiar to those of you who have seen the previous renderings.

This was modeled in SU and rendered in Piranesi.

That is so cool. I get the biggest kick out of this image. I see three reasons, wheel, no chain, and assuming this kid was tagging the wall, LOL.

I want to print this on nice glossy 24X36 and hang it up in my home office. I would love a higher res. I feel like I'm asking to much and should be dropping coin on this.

      I love it!

      I appreciate the reply Ecofeco.
I'm going to try your suggestion. That is how I imagined it working, taking my rendering as a jpeg and then using it as the background image and then placing the animation over that.

Now, I have to figure out Image ready, since I have not used it. Well, this will give me a good outline. Thanks again.

    • Need Animated Gif Help

Ok, I'm hoping to reach possibly Pete or anyone else who can chime in with some suggestions.

I have a rendering I have recently finished (wish I could show), and would like to have parts of it animated. For example, the rendering is a POV and within the POV is a large screen that is animated with something that loops. Hope I have you up with me now.

Can someone help on how to go about this, various options that I may have. I don't think it needs to get to complicated. I do have Adobe ImageReady, is it possible to get a video background like these here and place into my POV?
      I would love to discuss.

p.s. yes I do understand this really has nothing to do with SU, that is why I chose not to ask it in the SU forum and placed it here. Although my image was modeled entirely in SU and rendered using Piranesi and you people are the first I think of when I have any questions.

    • RE: Some scenes of the rec center...

I should have said, just haller if you want to use one. The larger slide file is about 2.9 meg and the smaller slide file is about 1.8 meg. I modeled these a number of years ago, today I would be working on taking down the file size quite a bit.

Cool! Definitely ask if you need one. They should be used, I feel like they are rusting away.

      Tom,

Great model. I got exited when I saw the waterslide, It's rare when any one needs a waterslide and I happen to have a couple. They might be to large for this project but your welcome to use them if you would like. Let me know. The larger of the two is not quite finished, needs railing.

I have not had to use these models for a long time, they need some dusting off, I'm sure of it.
