A Return To Baseball
-
The client came back to have another rendering done reflecting some changes that had been made to their plan and this is the result. This may look familiar to those of you who have seen the previous renderings.
This was modeled in SU and rendered in Piranesi. -
Yes, I remember this. Nice rendering.

OOO, I like the night render of the baseball field!
-
That's definitely nice..!!
We don't see many renders made using Piranesi - but this is definitely one of the best I've seen... -
Thanks for the nice comments. It's nice to know I can still use Piranesi a little. It wasn't until a week ago that I decided to use it on a couple pieces, this one and another that I'll show when the time comes.

The athmosphere is really awesome.
It makes me want to attend a game there.
Perfect light! -
Great job, Spence. I like the rich color, the atmosphere. I didn't know Piranesi could do this. My understanding is that it's a semi-2d interface that uses depth-map info to incorporate 3d effects. How does that work with lighting? Do you paint it in? Are there "light sources" and lighting properties settings, etc.?
Thanks for sharing.

Nick,
Piranesi is quite versatile in my opinion. I'm not the best for explaining the program, but I would recommend taking a few moments and watching some of the tutorial movies. Ones like "Whats new in Piranesi" and "Night Scene". These 2 show the lighting effects. I think that Piranesi has a lot of control and you can go either way with it, realistic of painterly.

wow..that's great...the sky is very cool...i remember the first round of these..

Really inspiring, Spence!

Golly gee, very nice comments. I see a lot talking about the sky and atmosphere. SO, I had nothing to do and made a video of me creating the sky. Now, I really just wanted to play with Camtasia. As for the video its hard to see exactly what I'm doing, so I'll explain. Simply 2 steps. First I place a gradient fill that is purple'ish and orange, then I selected a photograph of a sunset and set it to 50% opacity and placed it. Pretty simple.
Here is the video
