I'm not an expert on SketchyPhysics but it should work with the free version.

Welcome to SketchUcation draffter!

I'm new to this forum. I don't see instructions for posting questions.
You are fine. All questions go in the Newbie forum.
About your question, what exactly are you trying to install? The current stable release of SketchUp is version 8. Perhaps if you made it clear what it is you are installing, someone could help you out.

RE: The Art of SketchUp - part 2: Sci-Fi
Looking at all the pictures of that ship actually made me feel a bit nauseous. The fact that you didn't even get in the top 15 made me even more sick. And this made it in before you? That's just wrong.
"Wow" doesn't do your models justice.
I was going to maybe post my sci-fi temple, but now?
Excellent work!!!

RE: SketchUp In Your Browser (Chrome Only)
Wow. I'm really sorry about that Dan.
If I had known, I wouldn't have posted it. It didn't do anything to me. Maybe it's because I am running version 7. The app ran version 8. Which version do you have?

RE: Stupid rendering question
Ahhh! Gotcha'! Thanks a ton for helping me out.

Stupid rendering question
I am trying to render something in Kerkythea. I export the model and open it in Kerky but when I click the object to apply a texture to it, it selects the whole model. Do I need to explode the model before exporting? Sorry for asking such a dumb question.

Welcome Shale! I'm sure you'll love it here. This is a very cool and helpful community. I look forward to seeing some of your work.

RE: Entrance hall + staircase -- study
I think 7 is my favorite. They are all beautiful renders though. Nice work.

RE: SketchUp In Your Browser (Chrome Only)
Hmmm. Looks like this was removed from the store. It says it was removed by the author though so I don't think Google took it down.

Yep. If you use SketchUp at all in your process, you can post it here.

can this be used as a viewer? as in, can i send a .skp to someone and they open it in chrome as long as they have roozz?
What operating system do you have? How are you wanting to send a .skp file? E-mail?

I'm not completely sure, but I think this is how Chrome OS is going to work - everything runs in the Browser, even executables. Except Chrome will use Native Client. Either way, I think you still need to install SketchUp locally, no?
Yes, I think this is how Chrome OS will work. I'm pretty sure it sounds like you do not need SketchUp installed. I'll check this out though.

Please don't be confused- this is not a Google product, nor was the SketchUp team involved in it in any way.
Doesn't sound like it, no. Is that bad though? I'll add that to the original post. Thanks.

SketchUp In Your Browser (Chrome Only)
For all of you fellow Chrome users, Google has released the Chrome Web Store, an online store where you can buy (or install for free) applications for Google Chrome. There aren't a whole lot of apps on there yet as it only just came out. There is one app I tried though called "Roozz based Google SketchUp 8". It doesn't do much other than put SketchUp in your web browser.
This is the product description. "Google SketchUp Pro 8 (TM) on Roozz is a suite of powerful features and applications for design and engineering professionals. By running it through Roozz, the user can access this program without having to download and go through an installation process. All that is required is to download the Roozz plugin and the program runs directly in the browser."
I still found this pretty cool for those of us who browse the web while using SketchUp. Not a very efficient practice if you want to get stuff done
but it can be useful if you frequently browse tutorials and/or SketchUcation while using SketchUp. It is free and can be installed here. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/omfklkhadebbmjiejjplgepfecbigoap Check it out and tell me what you think. Please note, this is a 3-d party program and is not affiliated with Google or the SketchUp team in any way. Here's a picture to show you what it looks like.

RE: Introduction
Hey Jason! Welcome to SketchUcation.
If you are just learning SketchUp, I would recommend watching lots of tutorials. This helped me a lot when I was learning SketchUp. In fact, I still am and benefit a lot from watching tutorials. Check some out on Youtube or the SketchUp website. Also, this thread has a lot of other helpful tips. http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=12706
If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the Noobie forum where you're sure to get a quick response. (The people here are just awesome like that.
)
Finally, don't be afraid to post your creations in the Gallery forum so others can see your cool models and where you will get some helpful tips, tricks, and advice to improve your work. You'll probably even teach others a thing or two.
Hope you enjoy it here and learn a lot.

RE: Can you see it?
Yes. I would like something like this applied to something else. Any ideas? By the way, the last one is nice.

RE: Cut top off an egg
Oooohhhh. I see what you mean. Then delete the top to create a hollow eggshell. Right?
Edit: Alright, the picture is up now. Thanks.
