RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
thanx. this model actually reaked with detail...but a lot gets lost during the render...I have taught myself...a model is as good as its details. Candy 3 needs quite a bit of thought...i didn't actually thought of what would blow your minds.. ideas could be welcome...what you guys wanna see happen next

RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
LOL NOw im getting the OMG's lol...yea...i fooled everyone who looked at this first time.. saying..hey look at my model...and they will just stare at the screen and say...so...wheres the model.. hee hee..
The last 3 images were rendered in Maxwell render, approx 3 hours each, 2 would have been fine too. -
RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
sketchup is the so far the easiest program on the planet to work on. Its just a lot of people do not really understand its power and spend thousands to buy expenve difficult programs to create high poly models like these. Yes sketchup is limited in ways, maybe su7 will help going that direction. lol

RE: Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK

Silvershadows eye candy 2 : BLACK HAWK
silver_shadows eye candy 2: Black Hawk
Hi there again. I am sure you guys are glad to see me again. This is probably the most anticipated model building project I have ever taken on, trying to push sketchupโs limits more than I have ever imagined it would go. This was a 2 and a half month project and actually thought it would take longer, since I was doing this after hours. The final result was quite pleasing and wanted to do more, since I have modeled everything I could find on this helicopter, but time got the best of me.
I was inspired by this Blackhawkโs beauty that I could have build a lot of other types but it always came back to this. To me this is the most beautiful machine in the helicopter range and is probably one of Americaโs most useful machine during war, transport, evac and just have so many uses. I liked its body structure and looks. So here she is.Specs:
Tools used: The icons listed below is what I have mainly used to construct the bird
Modelling time: 1 full month (if I add up the bits and pieces during the 2 months)
File size: 32.9mb
Rendering: tests took over a time of a week
Render engines: Introduction page (fryrender โ first renders I have done on this application)
Assembly pages (sketchup v-ray)
Final presentation images (Maxwell render โ first renders I have done on this application)So here we go, how this bird was build, hope you guys like this, all my resources was acquired via going through hundreds of images and I tried to get it as accurate as it can be. After this trying yet but satisfying experience, this would be my last candy for 2008, but I will return in 2009 again. Be well, and thanks for being fans of extreme sketchup. PS: I want at least one omg lol.(swear words are allowed hee hee)

do you mind sharing those fryrender sketchup plugins. Its no where else to find on any website than one place and it does not really seems to work. I really wanna try this, emailed fryrenders website, no reply, registered to go into fryrenders forums, no permissions to post anything..so im reallly really stuck. please please help -
RE: PLEASE HELP
its a set of tool called projection
i only like the last one the most..usefulldoing glass balaustrades ect.
you just need a line...click on the tool and specify where the line needs to be extruded...very simple and effective tool -
RE: PLEASE HELP
ok i blew my top for nothing lol. I found out that you draw your rivit first,on a surface...them you move it to the surface you build and it sticks to it like glue perpendicular to it, only downfall is you need to place that manually
-
RE: PLEASE HELP
guys you know what would be super awesome... like those set of surface tools... but maybe for say move. You make a box and you want to put it on a curved surface. So activating this tool you move the box to the surface and it snaps BAM, the base of the box sits on the surface, now if you move it ANYWHERE on that surface.. it still snape to it untill you click again to release it. Im drooling over my dreams here hee hee
-
RE: PLEASE HELP
so we can say at them moment there is no easy solution for this.
see my main thing is i want to make pop rivits on a curved surface... so just thought hey maybe there is easier ways of doing this rather than putting one by one down manually.. hee hee maybe a rubie will be born form this post lol, -
RE: PLEASE HELP
hmmm i think component spray works too, draw the path and use single entity and specify that it need to be perpedicular...and then you just click where you want it but it does not sove the spacing...then you need to put in every single one manually
-
PLEASE HELP
I have this problem... i want to copy this object along the curve of the surface bit it needs to staperpendicular to the face of the curve..is there any way to do this easily
