    • RE: 3D connexion Space Mouse Pro - problems

Well after being passed up the chain, over 28 emails to and from me and lots of delays.....it is now working. I had to download the latest driver (10.0.10) which is still in beta, but due to be released soon. So all seems to be OK, finally! Now at least I'll get a chance to use it!

If you want to download this driver, go here http://www.3dconnexion.com/labs

My patience was wearing thin, let's hope it works consistently now! Or I will be asking for my money back.

    • RE: 3D connexion Space Mouse Pro - problems

      Hi all,

I have received this response today from the technical support team at 3d connexion, I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but thought I would share it with you.

      "Hi Sally,
thank you for your patience. I have an answer now.
First delete all the com.3dconnexion files in the hidden Library folder.
To access this folder, leftclick on "Go" in the Mac menu, then press and
hold the Alt key. A new MenuItem will appear - Library.
There open the preferences and delete all files that have a 3dconnexion in
it. (This is the place where the buttonmapping is saved)

Please check if SketchUp doesn't, in the SketchUp PlugIn folder
      (Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 8/SketchUp/plugins/)
that the 3DxSketchUp.bundle.plug and the 3DxSketchUp.rb is in there. (These
two files are for the navigation in SketchUp)

Then install the plugins again via the 3Dconnexion preferences. The files
should be back again. Just make some short changes in the SketchUp Profile
in the 3Dconnexion preferences. Now check the hidden Library folder again,
to make sure a new com.3dconnexion file was created.

The next step is to reboot the system and start SketchUp again. Is the
navigation still working? Check if files in the SketchUp plugin folder are
still there. Also check if the config file (com.3dconnexion...) file is
      still there. "

I'll try this tomorrow, but as I've tried similar things before, and have had temporary success but then it's stopped working again, I'm not holding my breath!

      Best regards, Sally

      Hi Darren,
I'm in email contact with their support, they are aware of the problems, the 'Mac' developer was away, so I'm waiting for them to get back to me. I'll let you know their reply. But it is all very frustrating eh? Best regards, Sally

    • 3D connexion Space Mouse Pro - problems

      Hi,
I bought a Space mouse pro and have had loads of problems with it, getting it to work and then it not working again. I've been having help from them but it is so unreliable that I am not getting the chance to use it much. They've just released new drivers for it, and seemed aware of some problems, but whilst it worked at first, it has stopped again. Is anyone else having problems? I'm considering asking for my money back! By the way, I'm on a mac.
      Thanks, Sally

      Hi Gai,

thanks, it's just that it doesn't say what they mean....I'm wondering how to say that my question has been answered. I think there used to be a green tick you could add....I wondered if that's what the green smile was?

      Hi Gilles,

I live in France but I am English. And I haven't joined the French sub-forum, as it's much easier for me to communicate in English. But I did try to reply (in not too perfect French) to a question recently!! Thanks for your help with my issue. Merci mon p'tit loup!

what do the post definitions mean. I don't get any text when I hover over them? Does the green smiley square mean question answered?

Wind-borne, you were right and that has sorted it. I have had lots of permissions issues since upgrading to Mountain Lion, and that explains why I could do this before and then couldn't! Many thanks.

      Hi Gilles,

Yes, I've tried a restart, but still can't add new textures to a current file, it's always greyed out. I can get new ones, as I said, but it does seem a little strange that I can't add to existing collections. And it is the same in any SU file, new or existing. Thanks for your continued help, Sally

    • RE: Problems with adding new textures on a mac

      Hi again,

I tried bringing the textures into a model and again I can get them into the in model collection but could not add them to existing texture collections, as the add new texture function was still greyed out.

However, I can add them by adding a "new list" and then adding them into that new list. So it seems I can create new textures in my own new lists, but not add them to the default Sketchup ones.

I then tried to delete a list, and got an error message saying it couldn't be deleted, but it did in fact delete.

see attached screen shots. Hope this helps anyone else on a mac trying to get new textures.

    • Problems with adding new textures on a mac

      Hi,
I'm trying to add some new textures to my paint bucket on a mac. If I right click in, for example, "wood", nothing happens. The only place I can right click and get the option of add new texture is in the "colours in model" tab.
I have managed to do this before, so I know it is possible, but can't work out what I am doing wrong this time.
Can anyone help please? Thanks, Sally

      Bonjour Laetitia,

      Hi Gai,
When I open the downloaded folder (suc-leaf-free) , I get 4 files with .skm, but they have black exec icons. )I think, having looked at a few topics that this is a Mac thing?)
Anyway, I changed the .skm to zip on one of them and it opened to give me a folder, and then put that folder into into the Materials folder in HD/library/app support/SU8/SU/materials, but when I use the paint bucket, the leaf I loaded shows as a material (suc-whiteash-1) but it is plain white in the display bar and paints as white.

    • RE: My 2D components have suddenly got black lines around them

OK, I worked it out, I had unhidden everything, and obviously the outside lines in the components had been hidden, rather than 'alt' erased, so when I unhid all, they appeared. So problem solved.
