    • RE: How do you draw lines on a sphere

I'm not sure of the accuracy you are trying to achieve, but I think this can be done with SU native tools. If you calculate the arcs by their width and height you can get the length you need. Here's an online arc calculator.

Here, the small circle above the ball is perpendicular to the second axis allowing the second arc to be copied around with the rotate tool.

      Good luck at the lanes,

It's not that difficult. One baseball game and Bob's your uncle.
On the other hand, have fun painting.

    • RE: Push up the arc

Use the push/pull tool "front to back" not up.
Also, If you hide or move the table top you can see that the legs and supports are not aligned in a few places.
This is a good time to learn to model precisely. In the model info box you change to a higher precision and also try unchecking the snap to length box.
This may help you model more accurately.

Your arc in not in the component. You can select the curve, cut, enter the component and paste in place.

There was an internal face that needed to be removed. Take a look at the solid inspector plugin.
Just to clarify, here's a screenshot of troublesome face.

    • RE: Solid Tools-Trim problem

Yup, once that error in the horizontal part is corrected it seem to work fine.
The split tool even produces a Klingon pocket knife.

See if this is anywhere close to what you are looking for. I have no idea what angle you want and I'm not sure I have the math skills to draw a specific angle.

Ooops, I had trouble with the upload.
I'm not used to this forum setup just yet.
This model is a little more complete.
