was the base for the first one the skull of a buffalo? looks a bit like it
nope, didn't start out as anything really, just an amorphous blob, didn't even start out intending doing a spaceship, just messing with ffd
ok, this one is very similar to the previous, but this time I've tried starting with a low poly mesh and using sub-divide and smooth on it.

you have to apply for it just like SU, sign a waiver or whatever... for the big one...
but I think you can download all the small section ones with out the hoops... like Java and ASP and ActiveX.
awesome!
quite a bit better than the Brooklyn Machine Works bike i posted on the warehouse earlier this year.
Link to the file. It's under the 10mB size too!

I also started SU about a year ago and first didn't think about earning/making money with it.
Yet I got some jobs and did make some money and now I'm thinking of gradually becoming independent from my present (dull, boring and tiring) full time job at the municipality of my home town and working (among others) with SU to make a living.
Funny at first...
There is also this SketchUp viewer that also lacks a lot of functionalities therefore it cannot really be a good tool for now.
Hi RSW
I am digging around the net looking for details of the Darlington Locomotive Works with a view to making an N scale 3D printed copy to go with my N scale 60163 locomotive.
Do you know if there are any dimensioned drawings of the building?
Your 3D Sketchup drawing is the first I have found that has the possibility of being useful.
If you are able to make some measurements available it would be greatly appreciated.
I live in Christchurch New Zealand so it is a bit complicated just to pop down and get the measurements my self.
Thank you and best regards.
Alex
